How Big Is Burnley Away?

Recommended Posts

Burnley need to win to have any realistic chance of the title, a draw is fine for us.

Posted

agree both teams are going up but I agree with Col it is the title decider imo

I don't understand.

They win and they are still below us and we have a game in hand. Why would that make them the title winners?

Posted

Psychologically if they win it could give them a boost to challenge us for the title but if we are being realistic the title is ours to lose and we won't do that NP will make sure our focus is their.

cos our game in hand is against wigan away

and we have a tough run in

IF we lose to burnley and to wigan then I think there wuill only be 1 point between top 2 and then it could be anyones title tbh

Its perfectly feasible we won't. They've had some good results recently and aren't struggling to score any more.

We should go on to get automatic promotion but nothings ever certain with us.

Burnley play Doncaster, who have had a few wins recently.

I think we'll get a draw at Burnley.

This is a huge match for me. I could see us not winning any of the next 3 games which could drag us right back down into the mix and make for a hairy finish.

Was originally going to post much more than this but lost concentration lol

Anyway- big game.

We have got 45 points from a possible 51 over the last 17 games, stop panicking. We also have a game in hand over Burnley, but promotion is the important thing and there is just no way derby, Wigan or QPR will catch us...

Is this the panic that one draw brings...

You got it bud..

Of course, points in the bag is most important (FIF is right there). I was also looking at who the teams have left to play and points differentials. Finally, if Burnley beat us, psychologically that could be important.

Damn you're negative;

To this point in the season we have proven to be the best team in the league. Now you think we're on for two losses in a row and then the inability to get as many points as BURNLEY from our last 7 fixtures.

I know we're Leicester fans but do we have to be so pessimistic?

If we're frightened of Burnley what chance do we have next season against such giants as Hull City?

I think you're banging the wrong drum FIF. We agree with you generally. Personally, as I said, I'm not bothered. Promotion is the aim. Champions is a bonus.

So the title won't be decided if we lose then.

Why do people keep saying this? Even relegation form for us here on in needs derby or qpr to win every game. It may not be official yet but only a moron still thinks our promotion is in doubt

I do think we will get promoted, but in terms of winning the league it's a big game.

But I can remember going to Peterborough away in League One. They beat us and everyone was panicking. Then they lost a game which allowed us to enhance the gap. Not saying it'll repeat itself but anything can happen; it's football.

There's no reason to be scared of going to Burnley. Fair play, they are second in the league but we're top and if we want to win promotion and compete in the Premier League then we need to enter these games with a positive attitude.

im not being negative i just dont think its a forgone conlclusion that we will be 1st when theres only 5 points between us and them and we have to play them at their place

thats all

either team can end up be champions

Regardless of what happens at Burnley Away, we're going to be playing in the Premier League next year. It's only going to have an impact on the title race.

Agreed. It's big in the sense that if we lose we might not finish top, though we'll still be in pole position. And if we finish 2nd honestly, I'll be annoyed.

But they're all big games at this stage of the season. We've just got to keep it together and play like what we are: the best team in the league.

Huge biggest game of the season.

think we Beat Yeovil on tuesday

Lose at Burnley

and Lose at Wigan (our game in hand)

which is 3 points from 3 games

looking at Burnleys next 3 games

they will beat Donny

Will beat us i think

and draw at watford

thats 7 points

we will be on 84 and them on 83

Hope im wrong though

I actually think our run in is really tough tbh and theirs it a little easier

Is there a reason for leaving a gap between every sentence?

Our worst run of the season so far was 2 defeats on the trot, I can't see that happening again this season tbh

Its huge, I can't speak on the behalf of everyone but I would be devastated if we were to surrender our position and have to settle for second place. Burnley are a funny one for me technically they are not as good as us however I think they can beat us, their style may not be as fluent and as easy on the eye as ours but by god its effective. Ings being out won't make a difference, for me Vokes is the main man, he is such a handful and could quite easily bully Wes, Was and/or Liam on his day we will have to produce the performance of the season to win.

In terms of the title it's a must win.

How?, even if we lose we would still be top, this game won't decide the title.

lol

Genuinely.. don't people read thru threads? This has been done already then you ask the same question. IT ISN'T A 'MUST WIN'.. but it makes it closer if we lose it.

season form Top of the league LCFC

Last 17 games Top of the League LCFC see below

LCFC 43

Burnley 37

Wigan 37

Direby 32

Reading 28

Brighton 28

Trees 26

Last 10 games we have lost points to 1 team only   Wigan see below

Wigan 25

LCFC 24

Burnley 24

Direrby 18

Reading 18

Brighton 17

QPR 11

Trees  10

So looking at an equivalent amount of games to our remaining total we have only dropped 1 point in our advantage over Wigan

Realistically We can afford draws against Burnley and Wigan and QPR carry on with our normal form.

Allan Youngs prediction is now within touching distance.

I would suggest all those who think we will fall apart completely and lose to teams around us because they are on good runs read and believe the above form tables.

We are unbeaten in 17 only Burnley are on a current run like it.

Finally in the last 8 games only Wigan 4 points and Burnley 2 points have reduced their deficit to us.

90 points will see us promoted If we draw with the teams mentioned earlier.

Lets cheer the boys on Tuesday to a win, meaning we would pick up points on Qpr or Wigan maybe both and Direby are away to Ipswich.

Surely it is time to believe

When we went up last time we closed a big gap to Portsmouth to bout 2 points, but over the last 6 games they pulled away. As said earlier, still think we'll average 2 points a game. We do tend to raise our game against the 'big boys' of the division.

As regards to momentum it's quite big regarding the title ? But as others have said not the be all and end all ?

We are close . Would this thread even be about if we HAD won yesterday ? lol

Fickle .

We are on the best unbeaten run of anybody in the league this year ???

We won't fcuk it up now ....!!!

Keep the faith ? COYB

We should only concentrate on Yeovil at the minute, I just have a feeling that could be a potential banana skin, I don't know why, I have a feeling that match could go horribly wrong, I hope we thrash them, but night games in the past pull out some strange results, hate them tbh.

Burnley is of course massive, and a QPR away esque performance would be marvelous, but it's Yeovil first, and we need to beat them.
