How Big Is Burnley Away?

Recommended Posts

I think it'll be a real 'job done' moment if we win, bit like Leeds at home was when we were in League One. Of course it's a big game, it's 1st v 2nd, it's big no matter what the circumstances.

Suppose it's different to the other 'big games' we've had recently though. It's no disaster if we lose and not much of a setback either.

By 10 pm on 1st April we could be sat 11 points clear of them. Games like Burnley and Wigan next season are must wins so start winning the battles now!

This is a big week against two teams in good form. Of course we have been in great form too. But maybe it is just in a Leicester fan's DNA to worry, even if times have rarely been so good. Burnley seem to be closing the gap even when we have just completed one of the most purple patches of form in our history and Yeovil are scrapping for their lives and getting good results. In fact I think we have quite a tough run in against teams hitting their own good form.

A win tomorrow night would be good for settling the nerves, but I think it could be tighter than most are imagining. And Burnley are just 5 points behind. We'll do well to be Champions from here. We're not as nailed on certainties for being Champions like most have been making out. Thank good for the huge buffer to third. I think we'll be needing some of it.

The game is massive but if we were to lose then as fans we need to just get behind the lads and carry on. Main target is promotion which i believe is pretty much done and dusted. The title would be a massive bonus and although i would be grim if we dont win the league its not the end of the world. We still have plenty of matches left and im sure burnley and us will drop points. Dont forget if Burnley do overtake us then the pressure goes onto them to maintain top spot. The fact that the title is still in our own hands and Burnley need to rely on us dropping points makes me confident we will get the job done.

The title wont be decided against Burnley even if they do overtake us that game so just keep the faith and focus on promotion first.

Just another game.

This is correct.

Ok it is 1st vs 2nd but it is just another 3 points at stake. We need 14 more if we are to get promoted as things stand and it doesn't matter where or how we get them we just need to get them.

In terms of winning the league then a point would be good for us and 1 more towards the ultimate number required.

Turf Moor pitch is 115 x 73 yards and the area of Burnley is 15.82 square kilometres.

That's how big 'Burnley away' is.

All these ifs and buts are really starting to rattle my cage.

Of course it's a big big game it's first v second, the two clear leaders of the league.

I personally think we will beat Yeovil and Burnley will drop points midweek, but even if we and they don't, I'm not worried at all.

My past experiences following Leicester, tell me that I should be, but I'm not.

Why?

Because we're the best team in the league.

Because we have scored more goals than anyone else in the league.

Because we have won more games than anyone else in the league.

We are 17 unbeaten.

We have scored in 20 consecutive games.

I could and probably should go on, but I won't.

Even as fellow Leicester fan's, if you're not confident in this team in this league, this season then I despair!

A draw would be decent against Burnley, a loss would be a disappointment, but not a travesty and a win will be a huge step to the title. No more.

We will both drop points from now till the party and I think the gap between us both and the chasing pack will narrow. But, no more than that.

We will be champions and I for one am enjoying every bloody minute, come on show the faith.

also aren't Burnley one of the clubs that Nuge has some impressive scoring record against ? (Like Ipswich ) I think there is some connection like that.

Leicester are on a fabulous 17-game unbeaten run which has seen them go clear at the top but Burnley are not doing too badly with a 15-game unbeaten run. We also had a 12-game unbeaten run earlier in the season.

Leicester are hot favourites at the moment for the title but I'd be very happy with 2nd place.

Put it this way, I am more worried about staying ahead of Derby, Wigan and QPR than catching the Foxes.

I think most of us feel the same way really.  I'll worry about the title once we have 'P' next to our name.  For now, this represents an extremely tough game against a strong team.  We can't afford (not that we have done) to not turn up to this one and grind it out.

According to website www.sportsclubstats.com......Leicester have an 84% chance of winning the title and Burnley 16%. None of the other promotion-chasers can win the title according to this website.

It says Leicester are 100% certain to be promoted and Burnley 95%. It gives Derby a 3% chance of a top 2 place, QPR 2% and Wigan 1%.

It is clearly wrong. Sad for a site with stats in it's name.
