How Big Is Burnley Away?

This is a huge match for me. I could see us not winning any of the next 3 games which could drag us right back down into the mix and make for a hairy finish.

Was originally going to post much more than this but lost concentration lol

Anyway- big game.

Massive. Undoubtedly one of the biggest games of the season and at the start of the season I can guarantee that no-one from either side ever thought this would be the biggest match of the season. But like previous big games (QPR, Leeds, Derby), we've delivered in some way shape or form. I trust our team to do the same and give a decent showing on Saturday.

If we come away without a loss, it's a positive step towards the place we want to be. It's imperative we keep that buffer between ourselves and 2nd place - we want teams to only catch Burnley, not Burnley AND Leicester. Keeping that 5 point gap between ourselves (and with a game in hand) is so vital going in to any run-in.

We can't underestimate Burnley either just because they have Trippier and Ings potentially missing. They're still a decent team and so their position in the league is on merit not through luck.

You really think we won't beat Yeovil?

You are asking our side to do something they've not really been doing all season and all the other average sides below us to hit ridiculous form. Not going to happen.

Regardless of what happens at Burnley Away, we're going to be playing in the Premier League next year. It's only going to have an impact on the title race.

Its a big game but win, lose or draw, I still think we will take the title. Burnley have tough games to play also and missing ings will make them tougher.

For promotion - Just another fixture on the list which we could do with picking up points in just to keep moving towards the finish line.

For the title - it's massive.

Still think this is our biggest remaining game. A win would be fantastic.

And we merit our position in the league - which is above them. City for the Win!

If we can avoid defeat in this game we have pretty much guaranteed the title ,game is more important for Burnley they have to win their next 3 and us to have a dip in form (unlikely) to realistically take our title away from us.

So they'll need to attack - which is good for our game.

City win 2-4

Good to put down a marker against one of our premier rivals next season as well. The likes of burnley derby Norwich Swansea hull west brom are who we need to target alongside picking up

so called shock wins against flaky sides like spurs villa and Newcastle. If we go up of course :)

bizarre mentality when from the last 17 games we have won thirteen and drawn 4.

Its perfectly feasible we won't. They've had some good results recently and aren't struggling to score any more.

We should go on to get automatic promotion but nothings ever certain with us.

It's not that big in relation to promotion. That's done and dusted. Reasonably big for the title but even if we lose we'll still be top and rightful favourites. I don't see why we can't win though and I don't know why people are so fearful. We're a very good team indeed. Burnley are not Bayern Munich.

Was discussing this last night in the pub. Far from being 'gone', Burnley remain very much around.. they have shown no signs of dipping, even minus Ings.

Whether you see this as a 'huge game' or not depends on what you want from the season. The aim for the season was (and still is) promotion. If we win the league, then great, but that's a bonus.

Therefore, this would be a bigger game if we were playing against Derby next week, realistically the only team with a tiny shout of catching us. Then it would matter (maybe) if we lost.

The only reason why Burnley can be seen as a big game is because of a. pride and b. It's probably the title decider.

Finally, for all those who claim it would be a 'travesty' if Burnley overtake us.. no it wouldn't. If they win the league then alls fair in love and war. If they amass more points than us it will be because they have been excellent and would have deserved it.

Personally, I think we'll draw at Turf Moor and go on to win the league.

Why? Even if we lose we have more points than them.

 E N O U G H ! ! !

If we cannot be confident in ourselves now, we never will be! We are the best team in this league, simple.

Our best vs Burnley's best = Leicester win, that is the reality.

Our form is the best in the league, our players are a class above.

Burnley are a good team, but let's not be silly, they're not as good as us.

The Burnley fear and then lovefest that some have for them needs to stop, it's our title and we'll be lifting the trophy in May.

Chest out, chin up, we're going UP!

Ask yourself this:

Would you rather be in Burnley's position with a win over Leicester or in Leicester's position with a loss to Burnley.

Points in the bag my friends.

Expecting us both too win Tuesday. Then we draw Saturday. Meaning Burnley are no closer too going above us, with 2 less games too go. Still got a game in hand, albeit against Wigan, but its winnable. Cant see third catching Burnley let alone us.

Posted

Draw be good for us, Burnley probably need to win, be a good open high scoring game. Yes it's big, but the big picture is both teams will be in the Prem next season.

agree both teams are going up but I agree with Col it is the title decider imo
