How Big Is Burnley Away?

Recommended Posts

We have got 45 points from a possible 51 over the last 17 games, stop panicking. We also have a game in hand over Burnley, but promotion is the important thing and there is just no way derby, Wigan or QPR will catch us...

Is this the panic that one draw brings...

Its not panic at all. It was a good point yesterday and maintains the unbeaten run. But its not as clear cut as some think. Burnley have closed the gap slightly, we've got to play them away and our game in hand is away to Wigan who are flying.

Should we win the league I reckon it'll be only by a small margin.

lol just watching MOTD- What a save by the Ox

Personally, I only see this game as MASSIVE if we want to win the title. If we keep winning our other games then it doesn't matter what Burnley do.

Huge game.

I'd be really gutted if we came 2nd, especially after leading for so long and playing the best football consistently.

I suppose for the older fans who've seen us in more successful times, they don't realise how important it is for many younger fans to actually see us win a trophy. A victory parade through Leicester would be epic. All I've seen us win is the Mickey Mouse League 1 cup.

Is there a reason for leaving a gap between every sentence?

Our worst run of the season so far was 2 defeats on the trot, I can't see that happening again this season tbh

yes, i am typing with voice recognition as i am disabled

win our 5 home games and were promoted

beat burnley & draw(win) against wigan and we will be champs

then we can have a parade

We need to put the Yeovil game to bed first. If we drop points and then Burnley win then this fixture becomes very big in terms if the title. Hopefully we win on Tuesday night then as a worst case scenario it's as you were going into Saturday. We have another team to beat first and 3 more points to either gain/lose. Make no bones about Yeovil will be tough.

We are overthinking next weekends game as well. If we turn up and play our stuff they aren't going to turn us over and I would guess we could take at least a point then. I would very happily take that. Alternatively if we could up with another dogged performance like QPR (a) or Leeds (a) and take 0-1 then happy days. It doesn't matter how we get results now - we've proven ourselves - it just matters that we get them.

Oh sorry I didn't realise that

Personally I think we will be champs whatever the result is at burnley. Burnley(and others) are bound to drop points between now and the end of the season

Depends.

In terms of the title, it's massive: win or draw, it's ours; lose, it's wide open.

But promotion is ours, IMO, whatever the result.

I think this will be a cracking game. 2 very good teams on their day and a hard one to call. Think we could just shade it

Just hope we don't get one of those horrible refs that spoil the flow of the game

lol

Genuinely.. don't people read thru threads? This has been done already then you ask the same question. IT ISN'T A 'MUST WIN'.. but it makes it closer if we lose it.

Maybe he asked it again because another poster said that the burnley game is a title decider.

Close doesn't matter.

I think it's important we don't lose. For me this game is about us keeping Burnley 5 points (depending on Tuesdays results) behind us. Then the big game is making sure we use our game in hand.

It should be a very good game though, really looking forward to it.

For all you pessimists you can still gets 8s on burnley winning the title.

50quid pays for next years season ticket.

beat me to it :)

Only if the price stays the same. This is the latest in a long while for renewal information.

I think the prices will come out after the Wigan game.

This time next week we could have dropped down to second behind Burnley - how annoying would that be ?

If Burnley beat Doncaster and we lose to Yeovil  and Burnley - and can certainly see that happening - so yes this game is massive.

We'll still have a game in hand over Burnley but even so it will be a serious downer to drop down to second.

3 points only for the victor!

Burnley may be unbeaten at home so far but so were QPR before playing LCFC.

Burnley have drawn 6 at home,a point will be good,3 will almost see us promoted.

A loss may only affect who comes first.

Was discussing this last night in the pub. Far from being 'gone', Burnley remain very much around.. they have shown no signs of dipping, even minus Ings.

Whether you see this as a 'huge game' or not depends on what you want from the season. The aim for the season was (and still is) promotion. If we win the league, then great, but that's a bonus.

Therefore, this would be a bigger game if we were playing against Derby next week, realistically the only team with a tiny shout of catching us. Then it would matter (maybe) if we lost.

The only reason why Burnley can be seen as a big game is because of a. pride and b. It's probably the title decider.

Finally, for all those who claim it would be a 'travesty' if Burnley overtake us.. no it wouldn't. If they win the league then alls fair in love and war. If they amass more points than us it will be because they have been excellent and would have deserved it.

Personally, I think we'll draw at Turf Moor and go on to win the league.

Totally agree..although a draw wouldn't be the end of the world..I think the game will be a win for either team.

I think the prices will come out after the Wigan game.

Mine in kop was 368 lasy year on early bird so I was hoping that even if it touches 500 then 450 would be early bird price.

I guess the posh people may have to lump 100 on it lol

We will be going for the win. I would be happy with a point though. All I'm bothered about is promotion. It'll be nice to win the league and a bit disappointing should we not we win the league as we've been the best team in the league by a distance. Our "W" column shows that.

We should beat Yeovil, and even if we lose to Burnley. We will still be 2 points ahead of them and we then play twice before their next game.

If we don't finish the job from here then we will never get the job done. The staff and players know what's required and they will do their bit. We just need to do our bit and get behind the lads.

It's amazing what a draw can do to some people after absolutely dominating a league. There's no team in the league that wouldn't want to swap places with us and i wouldn't want to swap places with anyone else.

Each and every single one of us would've took second place before the season started. Let's enjoy the rest of the season because next season it's going to be a different kettle of fish.

I can see Doncaster snatching a draw at burnley and us beating Yeovil easily

It's a good job the players are more confident that some of us appear to be

That would mean over a 40% increase per match due to 4 matches less in the prem. hope it is less than that.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got Andre Marriner as he'll be off Premier League duties after yesterday's clanger.
