Lionator Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I have an idea for Tuesday and it may be rubbish and possibly asking for too much but here goes. After the teams have come out and Hey Jude's blared out, everybody should break out into an anthematic version of When you're smiling. Even if it's only 5,000 or so people who are singing, I think it'd sound incredible. It's our song and what better time to really turn it properly into ours, especially in preparation for the big league. Spread the word. It might just be spine-tingling.
GeoLCFC Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 This would be amazing, but we would have to have help from people spreading it on Twitter like Stringer or someone like that to give everyone the info
Vlad the Fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 And sing it at a slower pace rather than chant it.
doddylcfc Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I don't understand why we don't do it more often before the game starts, make it a bit like Liverpool with YNWA. When the stadium sung it before the Cardiff play off game it was incredible and made everyone up for the game.
lmlcfc1 Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Great shout lad! And get on that pitch at full time too
lestajigs Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Great shout lad! And get on that pitch at full time too I'll av a bit of that
Soup Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 And sing it at a slower pace rather than chant it. This.
Weller in Tights Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 And sing it at a slower pace rather than chant it.We have debated this so many times, people (including myself) have referred to original versions that people have sung in the past at the right pace (Louis Armstrong or Frank Sinatra), however people still insist on singing it at 100mph.Consequently the original hand waving has become a mess. It would work if the club played one of those versions over the tanoy (BUT PLEASE NOT THE DREADFUL JERSEY BUDD VERSION WHICH IS ALL MESSED UP), Liverpool play Gerry and the Pacemakers version of 'walk on' to get the crowd signing. Can one of you guys that talk with the club please suggest that they play a decent version at the start of the game instead of 'Hey Jude'?
Itsthejoeker Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 And sing it at a slower pace rather than chant it. This, every song we sing seems to be super fast nowadays
Lionator Posted 7 April 2014 Author Posted 7 April 2014 It appears people are more interested in some ridiculous phone light thing than this. Tragic times.
ashby_fox Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 It appears people are more interested in some ridiculous phone light thing than this. Tragic times. This was ok as a one off when the floodlights went out against Bolton. This is a football match though not a Take a That concert so to do it tomorrow in the 10th minute to mark 10 years since we were last in the premier league is cringeworthy!!!
Kitchandro Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 We should do this anyway, before every game. I need to record myself singing it so I can get across how it should be sung. We should at least do it properly before kick off. We need to hold notes longer, that's how you make songs like this sound inspirational. I've said it before, but I get the feeling our fans are embarrassed to sing in tune. Take the boys in blue chant for example.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Great shout lad! And get on that pitch at full time too
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 This pace is perfect. Beautiful songLet's get it done
Weller in Tights Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Beautiful song Let's get it done Sorry to repeat myself but we have discussed how to get the old version sung many times.I really think the only way is to get the club to play it instead of 'Hey Jude'. This Sinatra version would be class. Perfect pace. And PLEASE keep the drum well away from it. Is it 'Leicester Lass' who is on some sort of fans forum with the club, could she bring it up?
Soup Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 But when your crying Yoooouuuuuuuuuuuuu bring on the rain
Lcfcjonno Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Write a letter to the club is the other way you could do it Personally I'm totally in favour of this idea
RGFox Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 I will drop that Doug at fanzone a note. I don't see why the club can't put the words up on the screen pre-match and put into the programme on half a page so everyone knows the words. Worth a shot!!!
elangLCFC Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Just out of interest - where does our link with WYS come from?
