Guest Col city fan Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Vardy I could see play as a winger, but Nugent? Nope. Not fast enough. Also, as Oz has pointed out, where do you fit in Knockaert and Mahrez in that formation? Rhodes in a City shirt is a no-go. He's not the type of player Pearson's after and would definitely not fit our system up front. What type of player is Pearson after? Has he told you? .. genuine question? And as I replied to Oz, (see above), Mahrez and Knocky don't have to play every game. The formation will change because it will probably have to.

That's not very difficult when you look at Pearson's previous shopping basket, is it? Genuine answer. Also called deduction.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 That's not very difficult when you look at Pearson's previous shopping basket, is it? Genuine answer. Also called deduction. Let me get this right. Given promotion, do you not believe that Pearson would spend 8mill on a striker? If he thought it was the right striker. He might not think Rhodes is the right striker, of course. But in terms of a 'shopping basket', our circumstances will change. You don't believe Nige would spend 8 mill on one single player? Fair enough if you don't, I don't want to get into a circular argument again with you. But our shopping basket can now surely broaden somewhat surely?
Buzzell Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 I'd be very happy to see Rhodes in a City shirt. 8m though? Not sure. He is a very good finisher and would compliment an attack of Vardy and Nuge very nicely. Could be used in a 4-3-3 also.. Vardy left, Nuge right, Rhodes central. Thats a strong attacking three. Agree 100% £8m for him though is way, way too much. Blackburn paid over the odds for him so they won't sell for peanuts. Surely there's better options out there?

He said so himself in a recent interview that he wouldn't go for any "marquee signing" at all. The money will be spent wisely.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Almost nobody plays 433 with three actual forwards. Apart from Liverpool? Sterling started off as a striker.

MC Prussian Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Apart from Liverpool? Sterling started off as a striker. I think that was Finnegan's point when he said "almost nobody".
Webbo Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Connor Wickham anyone? Not doing anything for Sunderland, obviously has some potential.
Finnegan Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Apart from Liverpool? Sterling started off as a striker. 1. "Almost." 2. Who gives a **** what he "started off" as, he clearly isn't an outright striker.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 I think that was Finnegan's point when he said "almost nobody". Yes, it could well work for the team who could win the league this season, was mine.
MC Prussian Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Yes, it could well work for the team who could win the league this season, was mine. That wasn't Finner's point at all, but anyway. Thank you for dodging (once more). Top trolling again, Col.
Finnegan Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Yes, it could well work for the team who could win the league this season, was mine. ... except Sterling is a winger / attacking midfielder / wide forward. Nugent and Vardy are not.

Technically, if it broadens our shopping basket, would that make it a trolley ?

Guest Col city fan Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Now look who's talking. No, if you want to sit behind your computer, posting little funnies in match threads, like BOOM.., be my guest. But maybe come to more games? You might like that too? Anyway, Whatever floats ya boat..

Maybe... just maybe there's a place and time for you to realize that not everyone is as privileged and loaded as you to make it to every single Leicester City game. But I guess you already knew that. On a sidenote, why do you think Rhodes would fit in Nigel's plans, Col? I'd like to get this thread back on track you know...
Leicesterpool Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Jordan Rhodes will be in the premier league next season, but not with us! I think the price tag will be too high for us, i won't be surprised if he joins West Ham in the summer! they are need of striker and he's type of player Allardyce would like to sign.

He's not a 6"10 brute who can smash defenders all over the place and score the occasional header from a corner - Big Sam defo won't be interested.
