David Moyes 22/1

I can't remember where I saw it, but somewhere Neil fvckin Walnut is quoted at 2-1 to be our next manager. That's what I call a bookie with a sense of humour.

Not the bookies job to have confidence in pearson. If NP does go I'd take Moyes in an instant provided he's mamaged to remove that perma-anguished smeagolly look from his face.

Can remember last season when people actually thought there was a chance of getting him here.

I know his spell at Manchester United wasn't successful but I do like Moyes, he is a solid manager and proved that at Everton. There's no doubt he could take most jobs in the Premier League.

He's achieved nothing in Football! so no thanks! Pearson all the way for the next 10 + years please!

Thats not true, Everton one of the clubs, who belong to the longest in the top flight, but when he took over funds had gone, and crumbling, with threat of falling into 2nd class and relegation. He went in and stabalised them over the next few years...Which was no mean feat.Hes never belittled or opened up over others achievments. He got the team playing good honest Football, targetting not top 10, but top 8-4 position. That is an achievment within itself.

.

If NP could get near that, we LCFC fans would be more than happy. He belongs for me as one of the top 6 British managers, with a track record to back it up. MOYES was handed a poisened chalice, The PL champions squad was finished, they had that last title in them....... nothing more , Forwards are W.Class, but the Defence and midfield were and are rife for major overall.

Mata and Rooney have to mold and agree who plays and stays behind the forwards.

SAF, RECOMMENDED Moyes, but he knew, 5-6 top players were needed to hold down a top 6, not judt top 4.

I'd take Moyes in a heartbeat if Nige were to go. And if we aren't an established top four team by then of course

Wouldn't say no to the idea of Steve Beaglehole being giving a chance either, doing a great job with the under 21s.

were you about last season?

Yes exactly, even when we were still in the play offs a lot of people gave up support for nige during the bad run and serious pressure was mounting. It'll be the same if we're losing week in week out in the premiership, mark my words.

I don't care if we finish bottom. Nige stays end of story.

One person (Pearson) as opposed to club eh?

Not a very clever philosophy. That would be like saying, keep Beckford even if he can't score goals.

Correct he has won nothing as a player or manager other than Div 2 title for Preston in 2000,no wonder the United lads looked at him and thought who the f**k are you?

No thanks. No trophies. He's not a winner.

He did an ok job at everton. But his style of football is a bit pearson mk1. More alladyce than martinez.

What I like is pearson has adapted. Moyes clearly couldn't.

He his suited to a newcastle or spurs. Although not sure they would like the style either.

Pearson should be here to stay and if he went I'd like to see us go for a chris powell or look at the lower leauges see whos doing a good job. Such as rosler was.

What?!!

What?!!!

You wouldn't take David Moyes if Pearson got the boot? His qualifications are way ahead of anybody we could realistically attract, which is precisely why there's no chance of him managing us.

I'm fed up with this revisionism about Moyes. He was practically a miracle worker at Everton. I started watching football in about 1993 and apart from a rogue FA Cup win Everton were a complete joke until he got there.

He did an absolutely amazing job at Everton - with little money to spend and not much of a squad to start with Moyes had them in the top 7 almost every single season. He restored pride to that club and built a consistent side. We'd be unbelievably lucky to have him if Pearson was to leave.

Moyes consistently evolved his Everton side.

Everton are a bigger club than Leicester, finishing in the top half should be something they do regularly. I'm not denying he did a good job but it gets annoying when people make out he pulled off miracles. They didn't do anything amazing on a shoestring.

Anyway, with regards to this thread I'd rather not think about the possibility of Nigel not lasting next season right now.

David Moyes having limited money at Everton is a complete and utter myth.

It just isn't, as I have pointed out time and time and time again.

Any money he did get to spend was through his own efforts and turning a bunch of relegation cloggers into a side which qualified for the Champions league.

From 2003-2013 his net spend was a whopping £14 million, which as I have pointed out, is money his development of Everton earned.

Meanwhile, across Stanley Park, the net spend was £174 million (12 times more) in that same period.

Compared to the sides he was competing with, Moyes had next to nothing to spend.

He was spared by the sales of Rooney, Lescott and Rodwell. It wouldn't look so good if Man City hadn't paid over the odds for Lescott and Rodwell. Pretty sure we had the same discussion in the General Football section of the forum..

But I will just quickly remind you of some of the purchases Everton made under a man who had little money to spend and a club who said he couldn't spend..

Richard Wright - £4.8 million

Joseph Yobo - £5.25 million

James Beattie - £8 million

Per Kroldrup - £6 million

Simon Davies - £4.5 million

Phil Neville - £4.5 million

Andy van der Meyde - £8 million

Andy Johnson - £9.5 million

Yakubu - £12 million

Fellaini - £15 million

Bilyaletdinov - £9 million

Sold Piennar for £3 million and then bought him back for £4.5 million..

Yeah you're right, Moyes didn't have money to spend at Everton.
