The People's Hero Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 Maybe he only dances for his shipmates? What a waste. I'm Mr Bojangles. I'll dance for you in worn out shoes. It's all us pirates can afford. Yarrrrgh!
The People's Hero Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 If I remember well, I reserved your rump Fair play - just don't let your boyfriend near it, please?

The People's Hero Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 Seriously.. it's not great shakes!
cisono Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 What part can I have....? So far TPH's rump, left leg and loin are reserved...
The People's Hero Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 What part can I have....? What would you like Louise? I don't think any of it is really that desirable.. but still, take your pick!
lookwhaticando Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 What part can I have....? I'd recommend the right thigh... it's quite tender.
Louise Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 I'd recommend the right thigh... it's quite tender. Hmm. I was going to say pegleg but that does sound quite tempting.... choices, choices...
lookwhaticando Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 Hmm. I was going to say pegleg but that does sound quite tempting.... choices, choices... Funny, I considered recommending wooden leg and parrot.
The People's Hero Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 Hmm. I was going to say pegleg but that does sound quite tempting.... choices, choices... There's a fair amount of me to go round - if you're feeling hungry I can recommend my belly!
Dr The Singh Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 There's a fair amount of me to go round - if you're feeling hungry I can recommend my belly! Not a bad chioce, it has been made tender with beer for many a year!!!
Janx Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 Mock The Week easily funnier than both of these programmes. are you German?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 The bits I've seen of Extras have been alright but that twat Gervais is far too smug for his own good and it's a bit rich him mocking people for liking things like Little Britain when his singular brand of humour is no more sophisticated for the most part than repeating catchphrases endlessly. I liked the Mitchell & Webb Look but sketch shows have been done now. Good ideas and some of it was quite clever etc but not laugh out loud funny like Peep Show. Mock The Week is okay but has too many dickheads on it (Andy Parsons, Gina Yashere this week). Frankie is hilarious though - the best one was "Famous Last Words" - (Aussie accent) "Stingrays love foreplay..."
Daggers Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 Catchphrase humour hardly ever works out of historical context as watching Harry Enfield confirmed to me last night. It's easy to come up with a tag line and throw some weak characters around it...writing a good sitcom requires a much higher level of skill ~ and this lends it some longevity. I think Gervais writes without the concentration on the quick tag gag, The Office will last as long as Fawlty Towers has done bearing many repeated viewings. I like him.
Libertine Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxFTAosSU9o "You do love me Janine, I know you do" "Pat! You're trodding on me foot, get off!" "MUSTANG SALLLYYYY!!!"

I'd like to think we can still work things out between us. I did like The Office but just not quite as much as everyone else. I only slag him off as a kind of reaction against all the praise he gets, a bit like when I try and support Rob Kelly a bit over on the LCFC forum, though this may not happen much longer.

Rincewind Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 Not seen many but I watched the repeat of the Les Dennis one the other week. Quite funny. On the same night Les Dennis was in the Bill. I thought he was pretty good in that. I will try and watch the new series but I either forget to record it or am at work.
Alexikokopops Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 Not as subtle as some of the stuff in the first series, but one of the better 'famous actor' cameos I thought, every bit with Bloom I found hilarious. As for That Mitchell And Webb Look, was a bit hit and miss but I'll keep watching. Liked the soldiers, the medical drama, the guys inviting around Moneypenny and the posh waiter. No way as good as Peep Show or The Smoking Room or as funny as David Mitchell is when improvising. ETA: Mock the Week was very good though, improved so much since it's first few awkward episodes. I agree with you there. I initially said it wasn't so funny, but I did laugh at bits, like the ones you mentioned. I liked the first half of the tramp bit at the end as well, just with the throwing keys and stealing drinks bit (and singing that tune made me chuckle quite a bit). As for the guys inviting round Moneypenny round, I have exactly the same Lacoste cardigan that Mitchell was wearing except in green instead of pale blue. Cost me a fiver, bargain.
Alexikokopops Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 Robert Webb's from Woodhall Spa!! That's about 10 minutes drive from me in Lincolnshire. Passed through there when I was at work today. This excited me.
