do we need a powerhouse

looking through the threads in the transfer forum and seeing linked players and players we have/bought i cant help but think are we missing a real tough powerhouse hard tackling mofo in midfield , someone in the mould of toure, tiote etc etc  .

mahrez, knockeart, drinkwater, allbrighton, james are all fairly lightweight and small players

do you think a big brick shithouse would help ?

So you think moving to nottingham and playing at the shitty ground would keep us in the prem?

Is it just me who really rates N'Zonzi at Stoke? He looks pretty good on the ball and he certainly fits the 'powerhouse' bill.

That said I think a Stoke first team regular is actually a bit optimistic. They came 9th.

EDIT; A quick Twitter search of N'Zonzi shows he handed in a transfer request a week ago. Having said that, I doubt it's to come to somewhere like Leicester.

Always a little bit iffy with players who hand in transfer requests as well unless they genuinely have had a rough deal. You signed the contract.

Having seen George Thorne today, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Er, why? He's just a lesser Matty James. If Thorne is a "powerhouse" to you then we already have one.

The destroyer-creator midfield partnership went out of fashion once Vieira and Keane packed it in. None of the big clubs have someone in the team just to win the ball back, they need to be able to play. We need players for their footballing ability not their brute strength

and look whats happened to arsenal since veira left  not won anything for 9 years until this year

i would say fellani at man utd ,wanyama at southampton, gerrard at pool, diame at west ham, tiote at newcastle, dikgacoi at palace, toure at man city, paulhino and dembelee at spurs

these are all in my opinion tough tackling no nonsense players that are there to break up the play  with power and strength

Spot on. Football is more technical now instead of brute strength. The only successful team in the prem who uses it at the minute is Man City with Yaya Toure, however he doesn't seem happy there and wants to move on. Also Chelsea have recently tried it with Matic however he's not in the same league as Toure and lacks potential if you ask me.

Not particularly. Would you play him instead of James? I wouldn't.

Same, he just looks like a poor mans Matty James imo, he's not a powerhouse anyway.

i can see the plus points some of you have made and everyone has their own opinion

i just feel it may help against passing teams that pack a midfield like arsenal to have a bit of a bully boy to come in and break up the play to disrupt their style would help

looking at our buys so far and what we have mahrez, knockeart and vardy, nugent, drinkwater and james we could prob have the smallest and lightest team in the prem  lol

You're not going to get much value out of a signing like that though, if you bring someone in just to play against the likes of Arsenal who traditionally slaughter us and who will most likely still slaughter us with a tough tackling midfielder on the pitch. So how many additional points is that signing likely to win you? Surely we're better off strengthening areas that will help us to beat the teams we have a chance of beating, rather than spending money just to have a chance at losing slightly less heavily against the best sides?
