looking through the threads in the transfer forum and seeing linked players and players we have/bought i cant help but think are we missing a real tough powerhouse hard tackling mofo in midfield , someone in the mould of toure, tiote etc etc  .

mahrez, knockeart, drinkwater, allbrighton, james are all fairly lightweight and small players

do you think a big brick shithouse would help ?

As long as they're actually capable of playing football then I won't say no to a bit more strength.

Yes I would like to see a powerhouse added to our squad. But I certainly wouldn't class Matty James as small or lightweight. To me James seems to come out with the ball nearly every time he goes in for a tackle.

It's not the 1980s anymore, having brute strength and being a bit of a dirty tackler doesn't get you anywhere. We need players with strong technical skills. If they're physically powerful too then great, added bonus, but footballing ability is way more important.

I am surrounded by Gooners, living in NW London. Most long for another Viera. As the Arse. haven't found one we may struggle. Yes we need that sort of player.

This is assuming that we're going to play 3CMs next season. I can't see us breaking the James-Drinky partnership.

: Even if we did play 3 in midfield wouldn't we be more likely to play an attacking player, like we did in the final few games of the season?

                      E.g.                    James        Drinkwater

                                                            King

Or are people expecting it to be something more like:

                                                         PowerHouse

                                                 James         Drinkwater

Either way, I don't think midfield is the most important area we need to strengthen. Maybe we'll sign someone, maybe we won't. I don't think it's essential.

Having seen George Thorne today, I'd take him in a heartbeat.
