Does anyone remember the film in the build up to the 2006 World Cup Sven the coach, the cash and his lovers? Trying to find a link online to watch it but can't find 1, does anyone know of or remember of any other World Cup films that are worth watching? One night in Turin is a favourite of mine but would like to find more to watch if I can!

The BBC have been showing films from the 1930, 154 and 1958 tournaments over the weekend. Iplayer them, they're fantastic. Brilliant throwbacks to a time when football was a lot more innocent.

Thats what got me thinking about this earlier watching the 1958 1 this morning was quite good! Would love it if there were some more like this out there for the more modern tournaments!

lol

Absolutely love the British Pathe newsreel type football commentaries. If I was a mad dictator the first rule I'd bring in would be all football highlights had to be packaged in that style.

Saw the 1958 world cup documentary this morning too. All 4 home nations qualifed, no chance of that these days!

I guarantee if Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland qualified, then England would some how **** it up.

Lets face it the only way we will see all the home nations in the same World Cup again is if Wales/Scotland/N.Ireland make a joint bid to host it

Starting with England's heroic World Cup success in 1966, we'll rerun, in full and 'as live', the highs and lows of the Home Nations' campaigns of yesteryear.

The full schedule includes:

• Friday 30 May, 12:00 BST: England v West Germany, 1966 final

• Saturday 31 May, 15:00 BST: Scotland v Netherlands, 1978 group match

• Wednesday 4 June, 12:00 BST: England v Argentina, 1986 quarter-final

• Saturday 7 June, 15:00 BST: England v Germany, 1990 semi-final

• Sunday 8 June, 15:00 BST: Spain v Northern Ireland , 1982 group match

Will definitely watch these, never seen them in full be interesting to watch full world cup matches that happened before i was even born.

Got this on now! Nostalgia.

Shame they couldn't do it without some no-mark comedians having a little dig at Heskey eh. Seems to be par for the course for this kind of show.

Yeah, this is the 'witty' TV channel isn't it?

Gerrard is loving it.

Very few of those shows actually work for me.

One of the few was the World CUp Heaven and Hell series on ITV, but that was because they had actual comedians on and writers too.
