Aus Fox Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Really good game. No surprise when you've got Chile involved. I've got a serious soft spot for that lot. Australia surprised me in that actually. Responded very well to a shocking start but their lack of quality shone through. I don't think it's inconceivable they get something off Spain if the Spaniards don't sort their act out. Cahill is an utter pain in the arse. 4 games in and bar the officiating (which I hate to admit it, has sort of added to it) the entertainment has been quality. If Messi and Ronaldo turn up this could be a truly legendary tournament. If Rooney also turns up it could be the greatest ever. Loved all 3 games I have watched so far...
Dan Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 It would be absolutely typical of England to buck the entertainment trend but you never know, maybe it'll bring out a different side in us too. Seeing the Dutch squad do that to Spain has given me a serious bit of belief and it's based on absolutely nothing logical. I suppose the World Cup's got the better of me already.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 We did better than expected and all I can say is that any one that knows me knows this too be true God I love Timmy Cahill, he is an absolute champion and we would be stuffed with out him!

I thought you grew into the game last night. Terrible start but got much better as the game went on. If you'd started like that could have been a big more uncomfortable for Chile.
Jimothy Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 This may be the stupidest thing I've ever written (and I know there's a lot of competition for that prize), but is it just me or does Tim Cahill sound more Australian than he used to? His accent was a bit more diluted when he played over here.

Jimothy Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 I thought that too! Sounds much thicker now. Thicker accent, or he sounds thicker because he sounds more Aussie? Glad it's not just me that noticed it.

DennisNedry Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 It was a good game and I was really cheering for the Aussies. They play pacey, honest (though admittedly not high quality) football. A bit like Championship style stuff, purer old school football. I like the look of Matt Leckie (sp?). Sign him up Pearson
kingfox Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Chile were always going to win, but Australia held there own in the second half, and actually looked decent at times. Liked the look of Mathew Leckie as well, got some pace and skill about him, and despite having to mark him, I also liked the look of Chile left-back Eugenio Mena, good attacking full-back. Decent game, and good goal by Beausejour to kill off the game.
Corky Posted 14 June 2014 Posted 14 June 2014 Thought Australia were going to cave in after 15 minutes but they showed plenty of spirit. Chile look a very decent side.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 15 June 2014 Posted 15 June 2014 I could get a game against Australia. So you could get in to the Chile, Spain or Dutch side
Fox92 Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 So you could get in to the Chile, Spain or Dutch side Not when you put it that way...
CosbehFox Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Liked the look of Mathew Leckie as well, got some pace and skill about him, . City are keeping tabs on him. Clever player
