wight88 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 So proper fans are those that go in the opposition stands and run riot? Ffs Where did I say that???
Thracian Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Signed too. A bit nostaligic for me cos I've played on Hereford's ground but the long tradition of professional football is worth preserving at Hereford - as everywhere - and not least because the area has so few professional clubs and people support their team til death even long after they become infirm sometimes. It's not all about counting the attendance or the £'s in the bank. It's about the folklore too. I remember reading that one of my old club's, Loughborough, had the biggest ever win over Arsenal. These stories and others make local history along with so many other tales. Why wouldn't such clubs be worth saving?
broughtonblue Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Where did I say that???Unless I've read it wrong, your previous post, below'Remember when about 50 of them came here in the FA cup replay 3 days before Xmas in 99 and they ran riot in the double decker proper nutjobs and proper fans.'
wight88 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Unless I've read it wrong, your previous post, below 'Remember when about 50 of them came here in the FA cup replay 3 days before Xmas in 99 and they ran riot in the double decker proper nutjobs and proper fans.' Well done that is what I said. And which part of it supports your assertion that " So proper fans are those that go in the opposition stands and run riot?" Cheers for your contribution to this thread by the way.
Mack Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 But what about when those questions go unanswered? Even if you are aware of your clubs situation, as a supporter there's very little you can do about it, often you are in the dark about spending and debt. What if one season the owner overspends, or invests in new facilities? It could take a while before the state of the club is revealed and, as you said, 'the horse is bolted'. Unfortunately, as a football supporter in a time when there is very little that the owner can be held responsible for, the best way is for fans to get together and help each other out, and I doubt that will change anytime soon. No owner is going to run a Football Club on a private basis, there will be a company that has to file accounts. If it's a PLC etc they will have to publicly announce what they are doing with loans, refinancing etc, like our owners have done in recent times, and it's how we know we are in good hands for the time being. Just because some guy shows up in a nice car and a flash suit a lot of fans take it for granted they are in for the right reasons, if the fans don't check these things out no one else will care.

1972 Fox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I've signed your petition. Good luck. I hope HUFC survive and bounce back. I have fond memories of Hereford away in the 1982 FA Cup. We won 1-0 in the 4th round on our way to the semi-finals that year.
Ansteyfox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Signed and good luck to your club. I remember going to Hereford when we were in League One; great day out with friendly fans.
PAPA LAZAROU Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Good luck with the petition, because lets face it petitions are pointless. If you can't say anything nice then perhaps say nothing at all ? I presume you like being a smart ars* and kicking people when they are down ? Well done.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 21 June 2014 Posted 21 June 2014 Signed. One of my favourite aways. Good luck to you.
