Samilktray Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 1 of the Ivory Coast players dads died 2 hours before KO apparently
Tielemans63 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Did Alan Hansen just say that Bamba is the worst player he's ever seen!?
kingfox Posted 19 June 2014 Author Posted 19 June 2014 Took a bit of time to hot up, but decent last 30 mins to that match. Colombia are really decent, attack with pace very well, defensively Sanchez & Aguilar work tirelessly in that midfield to protect the back four, really like both of them. Thought Ivory Coast were going to equalise, indeed not, but they played well themselves; however our ex two players were both shite
Fox92 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Yaya Toure is overrated. He's good in the Premier League, but playing for Manchester City in Europe and now at this World Cup he just looks "average"... All the talk of him being "best midfielder in the world" is rubbish, I've always thought that and for me, he'll never be as good as the Vieria's who actually produced for club and country.

I don't think you can really compare players when at national level because there are only really 2/3 top class national sides. It's difficult to look good in poor sides. It is a team game after all. EDIT, Platini? ****ing hell what am I on about.

He's not better than midfielders such as Schweinstiger. He might go and score 20 goals for Manchester City next season in the league, but he's far from "a great" - you know, players like Scholes and Viera produced for their clubs in Europe as well. I won't be able to name another midfielder either. But only because I don't watch European football. The only time I get to see these great players of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid is when I watch them in Europe against an English team or when they're playing at the World Cup/European Championships. But they'll be people who watch European football that could probably tell you. I've enjoyed watching Croatia, and have been impressed with how Modric and Rakitic have looked on the bigger stage. But football, as always, is just about opinion and that's mine.
CosbehFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Must say Colombia are brilliant to watch. I'd love to support a team with their pace and skill.
