C-man Posted 25 June 2014 Posted 25 June 2014 My (admittedly very limited) Portuguese tells me that the TV out here are saying that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against the Mexican FA for their fans introducing the chant of PUTO whenever the opposition goalkeeper takes a free-kick. You might have heard it at pretty much every game played in Natal or Fortaleza recently. Apparently it translates to 'whore' and Piara Power's FARE have got their knickers in a twist over it being discriminatory. Good job we're on our way home so they don't have to listen to Rule Britannia or Ten German Bombers then. God help them if they heard a 'TWAT YOU'RE SHIT AHHH.' How pathetic.
Stadt Posted 25 June 2014 Posted 25 June 2014 Oh, twat what do they do this shit for, ahhhhh it's annoying.
Out Foxed Posted 25 June 2014 Posted 25 June 2014 been and gone as far as i'm aware. they decided to take no action.

In Spanish it's a fairly derogatory term, much like calling some one a homosexual. There is a spanish song from a Mexican group that's pretty popular that's chorus just keeps saying Puto all the time, the locals love it and it goes off at the clubs.
seasider Posted 26 June 2014 Posted 26 June 2014 I lived in Portugal for four years and watched Benfica quite regularly. When the opposition keeper took a goal kick, the Benfica fans would shout 'filha da puta' which basically means Son of a bitch. It is a lot more impressive than English supporters shouting ahh you fat bastard!
kingcarr21 Posted 26 June 2014 Posted 26 June 2014 AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Always that 1 person who when it dies down starts it up again.
CosbehFox Posted 26 June 2014 Posted 26 June 2014 I noticed this. Particularly the game against Croatia it was loud and clear. I'll take this chance to say my hero of the World Cup has been Mexico's manager. He's basically a fan in a suit.
