Well done MA . CL would not let him go unless he had what he thought were adequate replacements/replacement lined up.

He's coming on a permanent basis, but if we have to pay money for him i'd be pissed off. We could have got Lee Miller for the price we are rumoured to be paying for Elvis. This is a bad day for Leicester. £2 million is nice, but relegation isn't and without a striker of Connolly's calibre then we are about on par with the likes of Cov, Millwall, Brighton and Cardiff. Let's hope Connolly doesn't like fat northern wankers and comes back.

Could be a panick buy and an absolute shocker. On the other hand if it's that little ankle biter Riordon i'll be relatively happy. Connolly was immense though and this is horrible

If we dont sign anyone I will be fuming, Hammond is ok but hes on loan untill december anyway so we could have bought him in January we need some NOW who can add to the team

Sky Sports have said Hammond will sign permanently as a direct replacement for Connolly. Could be lazy journalism, but Levein does seem reluctant to dazzle us with strikers. This is awful, I feel sick.

I agree, unless we sign Boyd AND Riordan I will be fuming, we need strikers more than anything and getting this money should be a blessing and allow us to sign a strikeforce who SCORES GOALS

Thracian Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 Riordon sounds most likely as he's turned down Cardiff and appears to be awaiting developments. Wouldn't be surprised if CL's on the dog-and-bone now. Also I'd like to know the fee for Connolly. There are so many figures going round and the fans are probably entitled to know if he was sold or given away. If they don't say you can fear the worst and it will limit our options severely.
