MC Prussian Posted 14 October 2014 Posted 14 October 2014 There's a Swiss ice hockey player by the name of Luca Cunti. Honest. There's also another one called Adrian Wichser, a pun you'll only understand if you know what "wichsen" means.

Jordan Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 this for real??? From an interview with The Guardian:"My poor brother. He has to go around and introduce himself as Cornelius to everyone now. It's stupid. Cock is just a nickname in Holland, a short version of his name. I mean, what's so funny about that? It's his name and my other brother's name is Dick. This is normal in Holland."
MC Prussian Posted 20 October 2014 Posted 20 October 2014 I still think Shane Long's parents made a very fatal decision upon his birth.

shen Posted 20 October 2014 Posted 20 October 2014 Schweinsteiger = pig farmer, not pig mounter. I'm half German and have never heard the word Steiger for a farmer. I guess pig minder would be more correct. Pig mounter would be something like Schweinebesteiger.

Back in the days, it indicated that on one's property, wild boars were roaming the area. In today's context, however, a rather unfortunate family name.
