MGLCFC Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Kasper 6.5 RDL 5.5 Moore 8 Morgan 7 Konchesky 5 Albrighton 7 (in the time that he was on) Drinky 6 Hammond 5.5 King 7 Mahrez 6 Nuge 5.5 Thought he had a really solid game - best I've seen him for a while.
champions 08/09 Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Schmeichel 7 - some unbelievable saves at times but didn't have a lot to do really. De laet 6.5 - played well although distribution was poor at times Morgan 7 - consistent, didn't do much wrong. Moore 8 - great game throughout. Konchesky 6.5 - distribution was very poor at times but apart from that didn't think he did much wrong. Albrighton 6.5- some lovely crosses and touches with the ball at his feet, unfortunate about his injury. Drinkwater 7 - typical Drinkwater performance, we just look better when he's on the pitch. Hammond 6.5 - didn't do anything wrong that I can remember, kept the ball well. King 8 - thought he played really well today, worked very hard. Mahrez 7.5 - picked up where he left off last season, at times werder Bremen couldn't handle his skill. Nugent 6.5 - worked hard and linked up play well but nothing special. Subs: Schlupp 6.5 - personally think he is a better left back and did okay on the wing but that was mainly because of his pace. Wasilewski 6 - did okay but not up to the same standard as Morgan and Moore. James 7 - same as drinkwater, typically good performance. Ulloa 7 - thought he was great when he came on, held the ball up really well and won a lot of flick ons, unlucky with one header, good save from the keeper.
kingfox Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Thought he had a really solid game - best I've seen him for a while. His passing was bloody awful.
Guest Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 I thought nugent did pretty ok in the first half given he was on his own with no support. Konchesky looked good and solid. Drinky fantastic as usual.other midfielders all had solid games. Schmeichel commanding in goal.so good at one on ones. Ulloa did okay.too many fouls and nearly scored. Schmeichel 7 Moore 7 Morgan 7 Do Laet 7 Konchesky 7 Drinky 8 King 7 Hammond 6.5 Mahrez 6.5 Albrighton 6.5 Nuge 7 Subs Schlupp 5 Wazilewski 7 Wood 6 Taylor-Fletcher 6 Ulloa 6.5 James 7
Babylon Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Konchesky was Konchesky, good defending and utterly shocking distribution. Drinkwater was ok but sloppy, gave the ball away with some poor passing at times. Nugent was isolated but kept giving the ball away. Kasper's decision making and distribution were shocking. Everyone else was ok, with a special mention to King and Hammond who I thought were very good in the middle.

MGLCFC Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Whilst I agree that passing isn't one of Konchesky's better attributes, he often has little outlet. Nonetheless, his job is primarily to defend and if he defends like he did today in the Prem, I'll be satisfied.

Nonetheless, his job is primarily to defend and if he defends like he did today in the Prem, I'll be satisfied. He's often the out ball in defence and gets given it when we're being pressed. It means he often has no choice but to just hit it down the line.

It means he often has no choice but to just hit it down the line.I'd have no problem if he hit it down the line, the problem is he usually presents it straight to the opposition in our own half. When attacking as well I lose count of how many moves break down due to him, granted it's not his primary job but giving it away in stupid positions puts us under avoidable pressure.

That's the best bet with Konchesky, play it down the line, make Vardy & Nugent run the channels. Konchesky must of gave away about 7-8 simple passes in the first half, while he also had a knack of playing the midfield into trouble. If he plays against Everton, and his passing is anything like today, then they will put us under serious pressure, more pressure than Bremen.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Schmeichel - 8 (Mainly for the triple save and one not long before that, truly class. He could save us some points this year!) De Laet - 7 (Did ok, didn't get forward as much but defended ok, made a few dodgy passes first half but overall ok) Konchesky - 7 (Did ok as well, passing was iffy yes first half but despite criticism on here, he's still good enough for me, superb energy and his experience key) Moore - 8 (Superb tackling and workrate. His pace will help us this year, defo starter) Morgan - 7 (Standard Morgan, didn't have a lot to do and went off at HT) Albrighton - 7 (Looking very good until his injury, shame really as he looks very handy. Very intelligent and uses the ball really well plus can cross very well too) Mahrez - 7 (Standard Mahrez, looks so dangerous at times then other times over does it but defo should start even if everyone is fit) Hammond - 7 (Defo much improved for Hammond, did the simple thing well and covered well but just not as good as the other CM's we have) King - 9 (Top drawer for me, superb workrate and broke forward really well. Looked sharp on the ball and defo been in the gym) Drinkwater - 8 (Very good as ever, just a class act these days) Nugent - 7 (Typical Nugent, worked hard and did ok but he'll need some support if he plays lone striker as often came out wide a lot to get the ball etc) Schlupp - 7 (Did ok but he needs a brain!!! So much pace and power but his final ball was poor at times and makes a lot of wrong decisions) Ulloa - 7 (I thought he looked good, very strong and made a nuisance of himself, showed some nice touches too) Taylor-Fletcher - 6 (Didn't do a lot wrong but not often involved, worked hard though) Wood - 6 (Same as Taylor Fletcher) James - 7 (Class act as well, difficult to drop King after today but this guy oozes confidence and has a bit of everything) Wasilewski - 6 (Unsure about him, looked a bit dodgy and defo worries me against better players)
Bamba's Babes Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Ghost-6 RDL-5 Morgan-6 Moore-7 Konch-4.5 Albrighton-5.5 Hammond-6 Danny-7.5 Mahrez-7 King-8 Nugent-6 Wasyl-6 GTF-5 Wood-5.5 Schlupp-6.5 James-6
