Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 What is your problem with people? He's got a range rover and it's got expensive tax so you automatically give a a sarcastic response. People work and people save to buy good things. What is your problem with people? People enjoy being sarcastic and taking a dig at people. People who can't work like to make jokes so their life doesn't seem so bad.

People who can't work like to make jokes so their life doesn't seem so bad. It wasn't intended to be sarcastic though. I was responding to what I thought was a joke statement which I found amusing and going by TPH reply he did too. If Jon really does have a Range Rover then good for him. I am sure that he deserves it.
MooseBreath Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I wouldn't worry about it anyway Rincey. Blokes who like to show off their big engines are only trying to compensate for being very small in other departments. That is common knowledge.

MooseBreath Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Hmmm Anyway, what about women with big engines? Daddy issues. Clear as day.
The People's Hero Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Ooh. I like big engined cars but never once made the link with my incredibly small penis.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I drive a Peel P50. HA! It's funny because... well.... you know.

Webbo Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Hey, sarcasm is the lowest form of humour and whatismore, it's blumming funny when used correctly. Yeah, sure it is.

davieG Posted 1 October 2014 Posted 1 October 2014 The first day of scrapping our tax discs turned into chaos today, when the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) website crashed following a mad rush by motorists wanting to register their details. Drivers were told they would no longer need to display paper tax discs in their windscreen from today – and those that needed to renew could do so online. But thousands of people have been unable to log-on to the DVLA site, promting the agency to tweet several messages, apologising for any inconvenience caused. It wasn't just the website - all the phone lines were down too (for essential maintenance) . The site is up again now
AyewJoking Posted 1 October 2014 Posted 1 October 2014 my tax disc expires next april but can i take it down now and not be breaking the law? after all, it will be verified digitally the same as everyone else.

There is no need to display a tax disc now, I've already shredded mine to free up a few extra square inches of clear windscreen

AyewJoking Posted 1 October 2014 Posted 1 October 2014 will the spared cost of producing and distributing tax discs be reflected in cheaper tax? how many trees would it normally take to provide a tax disc for every on road car in britain? what will/has happened to all the tax disc holders, novelty or standard?

The £10m a year saved on printing is part of the austerity savings, the old holders will probably go to landfill and cost £11m in landfill tax to dispose of [emoji6]

surrifox Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 The DVLA are a prime example of how cost savings prove elusive when you put a bunch of numpties on the case . They recently awarded an exclusive contract to assess drivers' fitness and visual acuity to "Britain's most trusted optician tax dodger"- Specsavers. Previously this had been done by pretty much any optician and every town has one of those. Now you have to travel to a branch of SS (not all of whom are interested in the business given the cut throat price at which the contract was won) - without a car of course Result- lost days at work and associated tax revenues from people who have to take days off long journeys to hunt down a branch that will accommodate them. The previous contractors would have returned part of their fee by way of tax paid on their income SS send it to Guernsey -
