The bald centre mid that followed brian Little to Villa .... Can't remember his name, but he was so good he just stood in the centre of the park and ran the game.

What about 'Elvis' Frankie Wortho ? What a popular guy with the supporters.

David 'Cheat' Speedie was amazing. The supporters hated him when he arrived, but he soon had them cheering him. You hated the guy if he played for the opposition, but loved him if he played for your club.

I had a pint with him at Filbert Street, he was a great character, I wish we could find another Speedie!

Yes!!!!

Yes!!!!!

Thanks guys .... that was driving me nuts trying to remember his name!!!!!

Draper was very good for the first 6 months then played like he didn't give a shit for the rest of the season, knowing full well he would be on his way and we were going down.  Very good player but inspirational signing? No chance!

Steve Thompson on the other hand...  Also Matt Elliott.  Came from Oxford and I do not know one person who at the time thought good signing.  Proved to be one of the best defenders I have seen in my lifetime at Leicester. If he was a little bit quicker he would have played at one of the big 4.

I don't disagree .... Got a feeling he got injured didn't he and that was when his performances dropped?? Or it could have been that he just realised he was far too good for the players around him ....

My point was in response to the question, who had the biggest impact from the first game .... and he changed the way we played overnight and was a massive influence ... literally everything went through him in midfield.

There's only one player I can think of that had more influence straight from their first game and that's Sir Les .... and he's already been mentioned.

Actually Corica made an instant impression before he broke his leg.
