Basingstoke Fox Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Bruno Berner was absolutely class for us. Though Nobby Solano did a decent job for us too.
Captain... Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Yes, some great signings, BUT I'm talking players who were brought in who, because of their experience/history (cambiasso esque) made an IMMEDIATE impact on us.... I would say Garry Parker, but I forgot he signed towards the end of a doomed relegation season, so his impact wasn't immediate, but his experience and ability really was the catalyst to our promotion the following season. Wellens was another one who was brought in for his experience and had a great first season and I would say made an immediate impact.
RonnieTodger Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Sir Les. Absolutely loved Sir Les. What a bloke.
foxfanazer Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Wes Morgan Was really underwhelmed when we signed him be he's been superb
Silverdaz Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Most influential signing we have made is Nigel Pearson totally transformed our club
lcfc278 Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Josh Low - what a player! I don't think we'll ever see another guy as big as him flying down the wing. I don't think im wrong in saying that he made an instant impact on us all.
foxfanazer Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Most influential signing we have made is Nigel Pearson totally transformed our clubThis!Totally dragged us out of the doldrums not once but twice. Hope the owners share his long term vision for the club and back him even if we struggle this season
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Davie Gibson, Derek Dougan, Keither Weller. Muzzy Izett.
Karljohn Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Neil Lennon, Matt Fryatt and of course Steve Walsh
weller54 Posted 28 August 2014 Author Posted 28 August 2014 Kevin Phillips is surely a good example of this Yes.. Definitely!!
Fox92 Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Absolutely loved Sir Les. What a bloke. Agreed. His goal on his debut against Southampton summed him up, straight in with a bullet header. No other consideration but to actually score. And his free kicks! They were a surprise, no goalkeeper could get in the way of those rockets.
LAprice_ Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Seems strange to think about how adored Chris Wood was in his first month at Leicester. He became a hero after 3 matches.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 As has been mentioned in this thread already, Sir Les. Came with a wealth of experience and showed his class throughout the entire season (minus Villa away). On the flip side of the coin, Just corrected that post for you there.
Mad Dog Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Billy McKinley comes to mind as a recent one. Bags of experience, settled the team around him, immediate impact.
PAULCFC Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 A couple from Motherwell Ally Mauchlen and Gary McAllister.Just been looking on wiki and acording to that Gary mac was "the make weight in the deal" £250,000 for both!
TrentFox Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Bobby Smith. Depending on how you define immediate or influence!
fuchsntf Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Keith Weller. Alone by himself at the top. then 2nd a little scot called Davie Gibson, both gave us that extra class. but.......Chris Garland, his impact couldnt of been more dynamic Kaamark. His influence short but game changing, that said all MONs signings put us back on the map. Dougan, Goodfellow, and Sinclair but more on the crowd. not forgetting lenny Glover. Every 1st 15 minutes scared the opposition..
