Russ112112 Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 My earliest memory of watching Leicester was when my dad took me when I was about 10 Andy Peake scoring a screamer from about 30 yards against Liverpool.
bovril Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Earliest memory of leicester is much earlier than watching them play live. Earliest memory is listening to them play arsenal on the radio in 94 at my grandparents house.
Jimothy Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 I was 12 and it's was in 1995 when we came from 0-2 down to Norwich to win 3-2. Whitlow, Roberts and Heskey with the goals. Darren Eadie scored for Norwich.
Burmesefox Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Has this thread started from twitter at all? For me Oldham at home November 81.lost 1-0 night match but I fell in love with filbert street and the citeh from then onwards.
cjb0780 Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 It was in 1991. Leicester 3 brighton 0. Tommy wright scored

Darren Eadie scored for Norwich. Great stuff! It remains one of my favourite ever games. This was just when I was getting into football. And growing up in norfolk I was relieved we won, next day at school was enjoyable. What a hit by whitlow for that first goal...
ADK Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Seem to remember watching us lose to Newcastle on TV, think it was near the end of a season.
Freesolo Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Leicester vs Norwich midweek game towards the end of the 94/95 Prem season, we won 1-0 cant remember who scored though
mattlcfc77 Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 My first game was on Dec 8, 2001. We lost 4-0 at home to Southampton and it was bloody freezing.

I was in the Double Decker and the Whitlow goal went in the at the other end. I remember in going like a rocket into the top corner. Whitlow had a hammer of a left foot.
J.Lisemore Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 A little bit off topic but, I will always remember at end of the final league game at Filbo when the lights were turned out, and every Leicester fan linked hands? I'd of only been a nipper, but can anybody remember the song that was played?

They played Auld Lang syne (no idea how that is spelt)
J.Lisemore Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 That was the farewell to Filbert Street game a few days after the final league game against Spurs. They played Auld Lang syne (no idea how that is spelt) Ahh I see, I still have quite a few photo memories if you like, but couldn't quite grasp it all. It probably sounds ridiculous but even back then, a part of my love for Leicester City died when we left that ground. Being a little mascot there and so many great times. Gerry Taggart header v Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Cup, red flares, electric atmosphere.
foxoffderby Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Every 6 months the same thread. Great memories Kill me now whens the next game?
Donut Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 I would say the first vivid memory would be the playoff final vs Swindon. What a game that was, 3 down, back to 3-3, and then a questionable penalty. The noise for the goal at 3-3 was off the charts.
placidcasual Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 April (I think) 84. Night game v Liverpool Ended 3-3. 7 years old and sat in the Double Decker. Remember thinking, for some reason, that on every goal kick the ball looked like it was going over the Filbert St End. The "Come on you city slickers" bloke was there.
foreverfan Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 First game sometime early 70's but no idea who against. Then november 81 met my other half and second date he asked me to the football. We played Aston Villa in the league cup 0-0. Seen plenty of ups and downs since then both city and personally. Hope we are on the up again.
Burbo17J2 Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 10 years ago, Leicester v Derby, fvck knows what the score was, I was only 5
weller54 Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Dec 67 away to Spurs for me.. They'd gone something like 42 home games unbeaten.. Frank Large made his debut and Peter Shilton was 17... It was like the Alamo!!... We scored on a breakaway.. Alan Tewley!!... Shilts was magnificent and we won 1-0... The memory of that match will last forever!

What a game that was, 3 down, back to 3-3, and then a questionable penalty. The noise for the goal at 3-3 was off the charts. When I said the Norwich game in 95, i was going for my first live game. I'd been pestering for years to go down but nobody in my family really wanted to take me, but I do remember watching the play offs. Actually my first haziest early memory is the Blackburn defeat in 1992. The Swindon game was crazy. I'd been on Scout Camp and remember listening to it on the radio on the way back.
Tielemans63 Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 First match I ever went to was the 92 play off final at Wembley when I was about 8 or 9. The next time I went was at Filbo about 6 months later and I remember asking my grandad where all the fans were!
Walshy5 Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 My 1st actually memory was watching the swindon play off final on tv. My 1st game was actually a the home leg play off semi v tranmere a year later when we won 2-1 i believe.
Fox92 Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 I can always remember going Sunderland away in 1999, and my only memory is being right near their fans.
