LEGIA TO FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL

It was announced this afternoon that Legia Warszawa SA will compete in the Foxestalk Football League Championship. The competition, which will involve 62 fixtures for the Wojskowi, involves many of the top clubs around Europe - including Rochdale and Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The first game sees the Polish side travel to Istanbul to take on Galatasaray.

Legia's new manager, affectionately known as Asha, brings a good knowledge of European football from recent spells at Zawisza Bydgoszcz and Arsenal. With a passion for attacking football and bringing through young talent, Asha is realistic about Legia's chances in the coming campaign.

"It's an exciting moment for us" the 22-year-old Brit pointed out at the press conference today, "and our aim is to be competitive and avoid the drop zone. We recognise that we are one of the smaller clubs but we still want to hold our own."

"We know that our home form will be important and we hope to put on good performances for our beloved fans here at the Polish Army Stadium"

"We also realise we are the representatives for Poland and we don't want to let our country down"

Although unconfirmed, it is widely believed that former Southampton striker Marek Saganowski could be handed the captaincy.
