TheMightySystem Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 One of my mates today was saying that Chris Wood will be gone in January. I don't think he will as I think Pearson will keep him as he is still young and can improve a great deal, I believe it would also be a shame to see him go. Thoughts?
TheMightySystem Posted 24 September 2014 Author Posted 24 September 2014 Loving the sarcasm dude Nah its my first thread so if you can tell me what to and not to make threads about that would be great im new here Cheers
FoxInTheBox89 Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 I think\ hope he goes on loan. I think hes our best finisher but lacks alot of other attributes at the moment
TheMightySystem Posted 24 September 2014 Author Posted 24 September 2014 I think\ hope he goes on loan. I think hes our best finisher but lacks alot of other attributes at the moment I think a loan deal would be the best option but I think Pearson didn't send him out in case Ulloa gets injured so he has a back up. I agree he is a great finisher and if he learns off Ulloa his hold up play and heading can improve a lot too.
LCFCFOX6190 Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 his all round game is not very good. Needs to improve if he is going to have a chance of becoming a regular starter.

VLC86 Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 I think\ hope he goes on loan. I think hes our best finisher but lacks alot of other attributes at the moment Our best finisher? Ok he scored a few when he first got here but then what? Bit harsh on Ulloa when he has scored with near enough every attempt so far. Wood needs to drop down to the Championship again, work on his heading, hold up play and first touch and then have another crack at the prem. Seams a likeable character but his overall game is well short of premiership standard.

I wouldn't say he is our best finisher but a good one and I think maybe a loan deal with a recall clause in case Ulloa gets injured. Or would you prefer Vardy and Nugent in a 4-4-2 like last season and keep wood out on loan even if Ulloa is injured?
foxfanazer Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 He's 4th choice striker atm and I don't see him going up the pecking order. I expect a loan or permanent move for him in January
TheUltimateWinner Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Loving the sarcasm dude Nah its my first thread so if you can tell me what to and not to make threads about that would be great im new here Cheers Welcome to the forum! I think he will go, but only at the right price, and if he's got the same sort of wage package as he has here. However, would rather him be loaned out if anything to be honest.

Yep, and when he leaves i would expect another forward that will in the long run challenge Nugent.
Captain... Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Wood should just spend his time following Ulloa round, copy everything he does in training, eat what he eats, wear what he wears, grow a soul patch... Ulloa is everything Chris Wood should aspire to be. If he works hard he will get his chance but if he doesn't take it we have to say goodbye for his own sake.

Thanks for the welcome. I think a lot of people forget that he is still a young player and needs time to develop before he has the tactical knowledge that players like Nugent and Ulloa have, A loan deal would be the best option.

I agree I think if wood learns from Ulloa he could be a better player then Ulloa when he is 28, depends how much effort he puts in but as we have seen Pearson doesn't buy slackers.
Jace Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 The club and Chris Wood went public regarding his position at the club recently where the club were wanting to loan him out to Wolves but Wood wanted to stay and fight for his place

LCFCCKEANO Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 2nd best finisher, surely Ulloa is better, but keep him for his potential.

Vardinhio Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 2nd best finisher, surely Ulloa is better, but keep him for his potential. Vardy is a better finisher in my opinion, he showed that on Sunday. I think Wood should be loaned out. In truth we probably got promoted a season or two too early for him. He should be playing week in, week out in a decent Championship team. I did a quick check but maybe i didn't check hard enough thanks for the tip Don't worry about it mate, welcome to the forum!
Jace Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 He's worth having at the club especially if Ulloa gets injured lets face it he's better than Harry Kane, could do with more game time though he would do great at Wolves and with a recall clause whenever we wanted would be a good outcome for both himself and us I think
ty fox Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Good post mate. I can't see wood going anywhere he will get a chance again what with injuries etc he will do a job for us I'm sure
ADK Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Wood has hardly had any game time and people are saying he's no good.
lgfualol Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 He'll stay. God forbid anything happens to two of our strikers, but then we'll have to put GTF up front.
