Our best finisher? Ok he scored a few when he first got here but then what?

Bit harsh on Ulloa when he has scored with near enough every attempt so far. Wood needs to drop down to the Championship again, work on his heading, hold up play and first touch and then have another crack at the prem.

Seams a likeable character but his overall game is well short of premiership standard.

I somehow forgot how clinical Ulloa is and agree he is better finishing. I would say Wood is top 3 and alot younger then Ulloa but I fear Wood is far less agile then any of our other strikers and im not sure how he can improve this

Squad player at the moment, but lets say within 2 weeks Nugent, Ulloa, get injured, if NP wants a target man in a specific run of games, who could NP turn to...????

here's the crux of the matter, we're all saying ulloa is a better finisher than wood. now go and read back what people were saying about wood after his first 5 or 6 games. if ulloa now goes 7 games without scoring all these opinions will change as surely as they have about wood. and that, in a nutshell, is the fickality of a football fan.

What are you talking about? It seems to be the consensus that until Ulloa came in he was our most clinical finisher.  The lad scored a vital goal against Everton as well as some of our most important goals last season.  He has a place here, he just needs to be patient and earn it because Ulloa's much better at link-up play and generally being a nuisance for defenders.

 

 

Wood should just spend his time following Ulloa round, copy everything he does in training, eat what he eats, wear what he wears, grow a soul patch...

Ulloa is everything Chris Wood should aspire to be. If he works hard he will get his chance but if he doesn't take it we have to say goodbye for his own sake.

One of my mates today was saying that Chris Wood will be gone in January.

You mate is dumb. Why, firstly he wants to stay, secondly he's a great sub, thirdly he has a bucket load of potential and finally should we lose a player or two who would we use if he's gone ?

Nugent, Vardy and Ulloa were playing, and Powell wasn't illegible against his parent club. 

 

I think Wood will see more game time as a sub when we are behind (like Everton) or if Ulloa gets injured.

I think Kev Phillips will have a major input on what happens next -  by Jan he will have had 6 months of KP training, so a question of how much he has improved on the elements KP determines he needs to work on

Lets not forget that last game we played Ulloa, Vardy and Nugent. It only takes 1 injury for Wood to get on the pitch. Even if we play 2 up front with one injured i could defo see Wood making sub appearances. I would be very surprised if he went out on loan

What makes my smile is that a lot of posters were saying the same about Vardy before the start of last season. Makes you think where we would be now if that Vardy had gone out on loan.
