When you think Tony Blair will get you a few votes you know you're up against it. If Milliband wasn't such a useless personality it would probably we a walk in the park this election.

In fairness, I think Miliband is starting to come across a bit better to the public now. It might be too little, too late to make an impact though.

Somebody described Milliband as like a plastic bag stuck at the top of a tree.  There it is, flapping away pathetically, no one quite sure how it got up there, but no one can be bothered to get it down.

I suspect he's good at using his lips for something, just not talking.

It must be embarrassing for Labour to have him as their leader. I'd be concerned if he was general manager at my local KFC never mind prime minister.

I'd wonder what the hell an Oxford and LSE graduate with degrees in Politics & Economics and an MSc in Economics was doing in charge of a local KFC if I'm honest.

He has actually done a lot which has won me over in recent months. It's people like Ed Balls who really concern me.

As soon as you spoke to him and realised he had the personality of road kill, it would all make sense.  :D

I've said it before, but I'd like to see either Umunna or Burnham as Shadow Chancellor.

I feel the same looking at every party. There are maniacs in all of them, they all lie out of their back teeth, they all promise things they won't give, they will all implement things they didn't tell you about when voting. I don't feel like there is a single party who covers all the things I'd like covered... and I believe them as well!

I would, too, but let's not pretend those qualifications make him particularly smart. The right pedigree and financial backing and getting into Oxford is just a run of the mill achievement. An MSc just another year dossing about at uni. Cameron is just as bad in this respect of course, but at least Cameron actually sounds reasonably intelligent when he speaks. My niece comes across as smarter than miliband and she's six.

Isn't Miliband the only current party leader to have gone to state school? I'm sure I read that...

I don't think anyone's ever claimed the economy is perfect but strong growth is better than low growth, falling unemployment is better than rising unemployment. Despite all the pretence the economy is in a far better state than it was 5 years ago, austerity hasn't been anywhere near as bad as predicted. To pretend that we're in dire straits is a desperate lie.

This.

Agreed and although I will vote Conservatives I definitely do not relate to a lot of people within the party or many of their policies. They are just more aligned to my way of thinking than Labour. Unfortunately for Labour, the economy is one of if not the main selling points of this election so all eyes are on Cameron/Osborne and Miliband/Balls. It's probably the wrong way to look at it but I ask myself two questions:

(a) Who would I prefer to be the 'face' of this country around the world? Cameron everytime. I think Ed makes a mistake in laughing off the 'bacon sandwich etc.' incidents and saying he doesn't care what people think - he should, it's a big part of the job as PM to give off the impression you are in control, professional but also are a resilient character when it comes to sitting across the table to world leaders. I'm sure Ed is all of those things, but he needs to act like it.

(b) Who would I trust to run the economy? Osborne without question. The clue is in Ed's name.

Had this been an NHS and education led election, people might have been more forgiving of people like Ed Balls.

Judging his knowledge, and pathetic statements, I would say he spent most of his school life on the "naughty step"

Yeah pretty much sums up my current way of thinking.

If it was an education led election, it'd be like 1997 revisited.

I'm sorry but I find Caeron too smug for my liking. Cant watch him for more than ten minutes before I want to puke.

This however can be said about more than one politician from all parties.

Apology accepted.

He's not smug, he just call lists out his government's achievements.

And misses out the failures which is understandable considering he wants to win the election.

And don't forget claiming good Lib Dem policies as their own too.

What do people dislike about Ed Balls?

He's an obnoxious tw@t whose every economic prediction has been proved disastrously inaccurate.

He's got a comical name though.
