Hollism Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 Hand held up so im absolutely ecstatic, got to go in and collect my winnings in a bit . Congrats! Bet you've been a bit distracted today
Vardinhio Posted 4 March 2015 Posted 4 March 2015 Had a few nice results on pkr.com tonight. $20 Turbo came 8th, top 6 got paid which was unlucky. $30 Late night 6 seater came 5th/49 and took $109 - should have been more but had a really bad read on someone I thought was bluffing. $12 Maple Leap Open with 2x rebuys allowed - I didn't even rebuy once and came 1st/61 for $476.90 So $521.90 up for the night. Knackered so bed now!
chrishlcfc Posted 4 March 2015 Posted 4 March 2015 Played last night at Grosvenor when I went to collect my money. Tony Knockaert was playing, he is a ledge just spoke to you like a normal human being which you don't get with many footballers
Rincewind Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Finished up at the Richard Third last night for a poker night. Met some co- Monday players and one offered to stake me. Finished 4th. Had pocket kings, went all in pre flop and lost to an ace on the river. The bloke who bankrolled me cashed. it was 60-40 and first and second did a deal to split the winnings. So he bought the drinks rest of the night. I was a little drunk when I got home.
Vardinhio Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 4th/80 in the Dusk till Dawn Super 50 for £430 + a £100 ticket to another event. Great weekend! Very unlucky in the end to lose a massive pot AQ v K9 all in pre where 9 spikes the river. Busted with blinds crazy big pushing 22 and get called by A4 by same person. Annoying but hey 4th aint bad is it!
Hollism Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Well done mate UKIPT next month so if you're saving the token for the £100 side even I'll see you there for a drink
Hollism Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Cheers dude, what day is the side event? http://www.dusktilldawncasinonottingham.com/news/ukipt-mini/2471 Loads of Day Ones, Day Two is Sunday 12th
Vardinhio Posted 16 March 2015 Posted 16 March 2015 Will probably play Sunday 5th April Day 1 I think. Should be a good laugh.
Rincewind Posted 17 March 2015 Posted 17 March 2015 Still top in the kings head poker league. Lost hu to a guy I have nicknamed All in Sean (poem entitled this in my new book0 he is very unpredictable with little logic to his play but I am pleased for him as he does a lot of volunteering for Wishes 4 kids. Final in two weeks time where the points from games and attendances is converted to chips so I will have a big stack. I think I will play extra tight the first one or two blind levels and let the short stacks do the mad stuff.
Rincewind Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 The final of the Kings Head poker night is next Monday. I am top of the table with over 100 points which will convert to around 20k chips starting stack around 2k more than the next highest. I can see me folding a lot of hands for a couple of levels. Starts at 7pm if anyone wants to come and give support. We have a fair number of players now. Second game we had 11. only just managed one table. Beaten HU by my brother in the first (£3) and unplaced in the second There is normally more players in the second game. Now my brother has taken early retirement he turns up for the first. Good for him but not others as he is a very experienced tourney player. He packed in work with a combination of ill health, voluntary redundancy and a company pension. He phoned them up on the first Monday to tell them he would not be in work that day. To wind them up. He'd been there for over 30 years so a part of the fittings you could say. When he is a chip leader he is a bully and steals a lot of blinds and it is hard to make him lose them which did me HU.
Rincewind Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 I am in shock. I won. £30 plus a £20 bar tag from the Kings. I went into it with 10800 extra chips and ust waited for opportunities to get involved in pots. Was never really bad off for chips even when 3000/6000 SB/BB. HU folded a couple of hands then had KQos which was called and held up. Only fault I had was not taking notice of the board when draws were there and my top pairs won so a little lucky in that respect.
Asha Posted 31 March 2015 Author Posted 31 March 2015 Came 7th out of 503 in the $1,000 Battle for Poland freeroll tourny on 888 on Sunday. Only $30 prize money but more importantly it gives me a ticket for the $20,000 Battle of Nations to be used on any Sunday. I'm in Bratislava at the weekend so I'm hoping to find a game in a casino somewhere, as I'm really missing live play!

Asha Posted 1 April 2015 Author Posted 1 April 2015 Never played on 888. What's that then? To be honest 888 is pretty bad on the whole; the amount of bad-beats is way too high. I definitely prefer pokerstars but 888 is King of freerolls for me. There's plenty of tickets knocking about for the $1,000 qualifiers where you only compete with players from your country. As well as splitting the $1,000, the top 5% qualify for the $20,000 tournament each Sunday where thousands of players across the world who have also qualified all compete, with $15,000 to play for individually and $5,000 split between players of the winning country. The $1,000 qualifiers are very quick. Blinds up every three minutes so it's borderline bingo but considering it's free (you can 'spin' a wheel every day which usually gives you a freeroll ticket) it's something to do for a couple of hours between work and sleep.
glenny_fox Posted 1 April 2015 Posted 1 April 2015 I'm considering giving up on online poker, the amount of times I lose to a laughable hand is almost painful. There are so many players that have absolutely no idea how to play yet the amount of luck they get is crazy.
Rincewind Posted 1 April 2015 Posted 1 April 2015 you may need to play a hell of a lot of games but the skill should come out on top.

So you could be first out and log in the next day to find $20 added to your account because someone from the UK won?
Asha Posted 1 April 2015 Author Posted 1 April 2015 So you could be first out and log in the next day to find $20 added to your account because someone from the UK won? I'm not actually sure, I would have thought it's the average position of all players from the country, and obviously if you're representing GB there's a large number of players so the average score will be pretty shit, plus if you win there's a lower amount to win when it's shared. Maybe it's just whoever wins gets it for their country, I don't know
BoneDog Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 Does anyone play on Paddy Power? Something slightly bugs me on there and I can't seem to find a fix. My online cash stash is shown in dollars, while the list of available tables is displayed in euros. Is there a way to display both in pounds or at least both in euros? I'm considering giving up on online poker, the amount of times I lose to a laughable hand is almost painful. There are so many players that have absolutely no idea how to play yet the amount of luck they get is crazy. Some of the outrageous big calls that some people make online after the flop with no chance but then go on to get runner-runner used to make me wonder if they were bookie bots designed to rake in more money, but now I think they're probably just drunks who can't drop a king or ace. Seems to happen to me more often in the evening at weekends.
Rincewind Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Best time to get the money off them. Like someone said to me 'I have lost more times when I have been drinking than when I was not' (or words to that effect) Makes little difference to me though.
chrishlcfc Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Won a nice freeroll on Friday night on Coral got £60, was short stacked on final table but managed to scrape through to heads up, I had about 120,000 and other player 400,000 but I managed to win through.
Hollism Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 Sad to hear that Dave "DevilFish" Ulliott has passed away today. A true legend of British Poker.
