Not having a go but I thought you always spoke about how you believed benefits were being unfairly denied etc? I was under the impression you were on them so if this is how they get spent god help us all!

ps..sorry if I'm barking up the wrong tree.

I don't mind if asked in the right way as you have done.

I only play micro games. The most is $3.50. My bank roll is small, under £100. I do not really draw benefits as in JSA ESA child support etc. What I have is pension credit which is paid from another department entirely and more than JSA etc which if I was on I would not be able to even play micro stakes. I receive the PC because I have paid enough NI during my working life.

It has been reported that those who are now on min wage part time or zero hour contracts may not accumulate enough to merit a pension so I consider myself lucky in this respect. But this is for another thread.

I save a bit by not smoking, driving or having a missus so the spare cash goes on entertainment after bills are paid. The last month or so is the first time I have played since last February and apart from the ring games I am doing OK. Not a living but mainlining my balance.

There is SO much luck involved in those massive tournaments.

I wonder if anyone has ever won an online tournament with over 1000 runners without winning an all in pre flop from behind at least once?

I'm sticking to multi table SnG's at the minute, a lot less luck involved!

Last night was my first attempt at the £110 North West Christmas Cracker, didn't make it through! I had AK 5 times in the space of an hour and only won once with it! There's one thing worse than being completely card dead, and that's being completely flop dead!

Entering again on Boxing Day in Liverpool for my second try!

With massive tournaments a lot players try and bluff due to it being small stakes, so you just have to know what your doing and believe in your hand and know when to start building your chips.

this $1.10 rebuy is so easy to get ahead of the pack just need to keep your whits about you when ahead.

I like playing the sit and go's with 18/27 players need to start playing more of these as they are quite placeable

Talking of being deep in online tourneys (and going back to bad beats a little bit)

I can 13th in The Big $27.50 on pokerstars a few months back.

I had 99. I raise small pre and call a 3-bet.

Flop

10 9 3.

I check to the aggressor who c-bets, I shove and he calls.

Villain has JJ

Turn 10

River 10

I know it's not much of a bad beat as the best hand pre-flop won the pot (and knocked me out), but I was ahead when they went in and the way board ran out was sickening lol

Cashed for about $230 when first place was >$6k

Well done whoareyaaaa though. 45/8000 isn't to be sniffed at. Though I know how gutting it is to go out before the final after being a chip leader for so long :(

Yeah I'd imagine that would kill me especially at that stage.

Rookie run is still on. Since starting cash games on Friday I've worked up a steady $40 profit over quite a few hours of 25NL play. Pretty sure I've played around 500-550 hands which I would estimate to be around 7-9 hours in total? Could still be lucky but I'm going to continue in the same vein when I get the time and keep trying to learn and adjust as I have been as I'm sure there's plenty of room for improvement especially post-flop.

It seems to me like most of the time when I lose a pot it's a bluff that wanted throwing down after being called and I try to continue being aggressive and it bites me in the arse sometimes. Overall though I think the general strategy works quite well for me at this level stealing the odd pot and playing genuinely decent hands a bit less aggressively to get some action.

Really getting the bug for it at the minute and do feel like my game is pretty solid for the low level but we'll see.

Played at Dusk Til Dawn two nights ago in the 25+5. Came 14th out of 148 runners in the end, getting knocked out at 2:30 to get my money back lol

Re-entered after being knocked out fairly early. Had pocket 6's. Flop come 3 6 7. Four players in. A bet of 600 to my right (average stack at this stage is 20k), second player calls, I re-raise to 2.2k, then another re-raise to 8k, then fold, fold, I call.

Turn comes a 10. I raise 6k, player pushes all in, I call. He only hit his set of 10's didn't he :xmassad:

Was absolutely fuming, especially considering that he was playing very tight before that and then to raise just under half average with little in the pot after that flop is ridiculous.

Did a SNAP freeroll on 888 for a laugh and managed to finish 8th out of 445 for $30. Quite happy with it, have to admit I got a little bit lucky on a few flips and then got killed by one to knock me out after I shoved with the short stack.

How did you do with your second bullet?

Just seen that the bloke that won it last year has gone and won it again! o.0

Made it to day two with 86k with the average at 75k after 8 hands I was up to 140k, then an hour later I was out.

No bad beat story, just shit play from me.

Yeah, that's a pretty amazing achievement to be fair! Should have been mine though!

When is the next FT game?

May play later. Lost a bit of what I regained. last night. played in a freeroll went out early. Had KK got called by 33 who hit trips on flop.

Won the first game of the poker night at the kings Head. Peased about that after so many runner  ups. Doubled up early on via a weak player and never ran into any big challenges after until heads up.

I don't think I've ever wanted someone to win a poker tournament as much in my life!!

I try and avoid the live coverage of EPTs so it makes the channel four programme more interesting, but I had to see how he'd do lol

26th in the end. Impressive.
