MooseBreath Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 No expert on snooker but it looks like Trump vs O'Sullivan is going to be excellent
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 If Ronnie had this kind of temperament throughout his career he would have easily won far more tournaments... certainly far more up for the fight even when not at his best he can win. Not that 5 world titles and four UK titles amougst others is bad but for his talent he should have bypassed Hendry and could still do so. Trump on his way to a five one lead so looks like a ronnie trump final should make for a classic
kingfox Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 I've seen a lot of players play live. But I have to say, in terms of natural talent, Ronnie & Judd are by far the two best players I've seen.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Well I may have spoken too soon, Maguire is well back in this
Bert Posted 7 December 2014 Author Posted 7 December 2014 Ronnie and Judd should be great. Two of the most natural players ever to grace the baize. Hoping for some big breaks and for it to go all the way.
Raj Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Awesome comeback from Judd ...hope he takes the decider!!!!
Grandad. Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 As if Ronnie has never been up for SPOTY. Sums up the joke of an award.
Bert Posted 8 December 2014 Author Posted 8 December 2014 As if Ronnie has never been up for SPOTY. Sums up the joke of an award. You have to be a BBC golden boy!
Guest MattP Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Same with Phil Taylor, took him about 15 world titles to get nominated. Definitely a snobbery towards the 'pub sports'.
Grandad. Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 It's even more ridiculous when you look at what Ronnie has achieved in the last calender year. Think only Rory has achieved more collectively than Ronnie, granted Lewis Hamilton is a World Champion in his sport but the sick thing is even if Ronnie beat Selby to win the World Championship this year it still wouldn't of made a difference.
Harry - LCFC Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Is Snooker considered a pub sport? I've never looked at it that way.
Bert Posted 9 December 2014 Author Posted 9 December 2014 Is Snooker considered a pub sport? I've never looked at it that way.Not technically. Ironic thing about it all is the BBC have 4 tournaments televised throughout the year.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Shouldn't they rename the sports personality of the year award to the sports achievements of the year award? Personality hasn't come in to it in decades.

Guest MattP Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Is Snooker considered a pub sport? I've never looked at it that way. Not a pub sport like pool or darts is, but a 'sport' where you are quite likely to play it having a pint is what I meant.
foxfanazer Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 As if Ronnie has never been up for SPOTY. Sums up the joke of an award. Crazy really. There are very few sports people as naturally talented as RonnieDoubt he gives a shit though
