Looking forward to this, extra interest for me this year as a lad I know from playing pool against (I won't mention Ive beat him Last time we played!lol) on Thursday nights has qualified for this and faces Neil Robertson in 3 weeks time.

I'm sure Robertson will see him off comprehensively but great to see that he's qualifying for these events. Only just missed out on a two year tour card earlier this year.

Seriously don't know why Hearn decided to change the format to this.

Gives nobodies a chance to get battered by the big guns.

Get some good matches in the first round, Jimmy White v Dave Harold particularly sticks out  lol

Take it Bert, that the lad you know is the one who was interviewed on RL. Came across as a pleasan,t totally grounded kid with a steely determination to succeed. would love to see him give Robertson a run for his money!

Yes mate. He's a great lad. Not big headed like some of the younger lads I know that are decent on the pool circuit.

Joe has dominated the 8-ball world at under 21 level for a good few years now.

Pleased he's made the step up to snooker. Keeps doing what he's doing and practices hard there's no reason why he can't get a tour card and become a regular on the snooker circuit.

O'Connor like Brown against Selby today will more than likely get battered 6-0.

Hopefully Xiao Guodong can have a good run though, about time he did something other than abroad.

He's posted a face, chill out.

Someone thought I was being serious...again.

Well I wasn't.

Pointless pathetic post, you need to chill out  ;)

Young Westley Cooper is a fantastic little talent.

Great experience for Joe, but there's not nany harder opponents to play then Robbo.

Tv stages start Saturday, which is great but also means it's time to put Kingfox on ignore for a while.

Won't be posting much, as it's not the World Championships.

But do what you want Bertram, join the arseholes who can't cope with some of my posts.

I wish people would stop quoting kingfox, kind of makes having him on ignore redundant.

Anyway, hoping this is a great tournament and we see some cracking snooker.

Just because I won't post about it often, doesn't mean I won't watch it.

About time we had some Snooker back on the BBC, these foreign tournaments on Eurosport are getting too much.

Some incredible stuff today.

Selby already out.

And Barry Hawkins has just binned a 5-0 lead to lose 6-5 to Nigel Bond. Amazing comeback!

Unreal from Ronnie last night.

Up against young McGill today in the Quarters, this young McGill is fearless and nothing to lose, think this will be a close match.
