Guest ttfn Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 you're right. It's laughable.. Leicester being Leicester - would you really be surprised if it happened though? I could definitely see him being put in charge in an interim capacity if NP was to get the bullet.
Buzzell Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 lol I've gotta admit that for entertainment value this site gets better and better Everyone says that Pearson isn't a premier league manager.... Well at least he is a manager! we don't want to give a manager who has 10 years experience managing/coaching and got us promoted in a record breaking season but we will give a player who has arrived a few months ago and no managing experience at all a shot at it! Has he even got any coaching badges? Don't get me wrong something needs to change sooner or later at this club because the way we are going can turn into quite an embarrassing kne but giving it to Cambiasso is not the answer. We're going to need to get someone in with the experience and know how of day to day management and survival! Good old typical FT thread for you.
EGBFitness Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Good old typical FT thread for you. Thanks mate, got to keep consistent
Saxondale Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 My vote is Steve Walsh and Steve Walsh Senior as joint caretakers. They can alternate who goes in the stand and in the dugout. That'll mess with people's minds.
Buzzell Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Thanks mate, got to keep consistent It's about as consistent as King with the gurn face. Without threads like this FT talk would be boring and go into melt down.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 **** off and die I'll say it again. Go and chew barbed wire, donkey's arse.
inckley fox Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 It's not unthinkable that Cambiasso will go on to be a top level manager. Not unthinkable he has the qualities to turn us around. If he had his badges then it might be worth further discussion, though it's impossible to know whether he has what it takes until the moment we decide to pin absolutely everything on an entirely unknown quantity.
ealingfox Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Can't be any worse than whats going on right now. I'd genuinely make him the interim when Pearson gets the tin tack. He knows more about the game than anyone else at the Club and thats a fact.
MooseBreath Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Go for it. Makes perfect sense. If ever there's been a time to make a rash decision to replace a long-standing, successful manager and replace him with a completely unproven Italian with very little experience of British football then that time, surely, is now.

Babylon Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Who's this Italian you speak of?The one with an Italian and Argentinian passport.

I know you think you're being clever but appointing EC, at this point carries as much risk as appointing anyone else should NP get chopped. Arguably because there are so many unknown quantities surrounding the proposed tenure, we're as likely to stay up comfortably under EC as we are to go down.

It would be a gamble for sure as it always is with new managers. But I'd say appointing a guy who has never managed a game in his life on the strength of the fact that he was a good player in Italy in his day carries considerably more risk than appointing say, somebody with significant premier league managerial experience, or sticking with the current manager who has proven he is capable of delivering success and of learning from failures.

Cambiasso has achieved more in his career than our Club has in its entire history. And in case you've not noticed, the number of people in the dole queue with 'significant premier league managerial experience' is incredibly low. And as has been pointed out there's a good chance the obvious candidate wouldn't be a good fit for us at all. A bolt from the blue is as good as we can do from an executive point of view at this stage.

Examples abound but maybe the most pertinent is Ole Gunnar Solksjaer at Cardiff last season. Good player, unproven manager, they went backwards. Cambi wouldn't be a bolt from the blue either given he's already here and playing an important role at the club. If a bolt from the blue is what you want then Sven Goran Eriksson is your man. Nobody quite like Sven for short term transformations. (disclaimer - Sven is also a horrible shout)
KentyLCFC Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 A better suggestion would be Ian stringer. *literally dives for cover*
chicagofox Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 This is a ridiculous idea but he's not doing anything positive in midfield.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Anyone but PulisWhat.. Ian Dowie rather than Pulis?Uwe Rosler rather than Pulis? Boothroyd rather than Pulis? Have you thought that out?
Silverdaz Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 If not Cambiasso then I think Kevin Phillips might be worth a shout
Alf Bentley Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 No need to be childish lads.. Yes, the missis reads the forum, on her own IPad. She loves her football and always has. For the record, she often thinks I'm wrong... Anyone but Pulis Not quite, mate. Would take Pulis ahead of Col City Fan. Not ahead of Mrs. Col City Fan, though. She obviously has much better judgment. NP > Experienced manager > Mrs Col City Fan > Bernie > Any other manager > Pulis > Col City Fan :xmaswink:
