Depends very much on the reporter saying it. Several are usually spot on. Pearson has talked about missing out on targets, Geoff Peters only this week said we missed out on the Croatian in the summer who Chelsea are supposedly now after, our scout on twitter said it was frustrating seeing targets we missed doing well at a higher level. It's pretty much universally agreed we missed out on a lot of players in the summer for whatever reason. But you put your head in the sand and pretend we signed all our first choice targets if you want.

Were we linked with any decent centre backs or full backs because I can't recollect any and now we don't seem to keep clean sheets very often. I would have thought with Pearson being so good he would have strengthen at the back first.

Yes, Aaron Cresswell for starters (link was John Percy, about as good as you can get) also linked with tracking him for several years.

Andrej Kramaric, Luciano Vietto, Samuel Umtiti, Selcuk Inan, Aaron Cresswell, Islam Slimani and Nabil Fekir were all on the wanted list for a start. If we hadn't tried to play such hard ball with Sporting, Slimani would be a Leicester player now.
