RowlattsFox Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 For me it's about how many points we are behind 17th after these games. No more than 5 points and we've got a chance. Palace is huge, be no surprise if we don't win that one yet get 3 points elsewhere.
Leicesterpool Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 Well prior to the Man U and Cambridge game last night I did fancy us to get a result there next week, but because of Man U's poor performance last night they may raise their game next week. However you never know a point there will feel like a victory. It's a tough run up of fixtures, but we seem to do well against the bigger clubs for some reason.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 5 points would be a realistic good return, but we need more.
Fox92 Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 Can only see us getting something out of the Palace and Everton games. Even then, a draw at best at Goodison Park.
inckley fox Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 5 points would be excellent. Confidence would be intact, we'd probably still be 3, 4, no more than 5 points adrift and - considering our end-of-season run-in - it'd be in our hands and well within our grasp to stay up. Schlupp, Mahrez, Morgan, Wasilewski, Ulloa - they've all stepped up at moments this season, I reckon we're going to need those guys, or 4/5 of them, to put in a shift and a couple of others to emerge as stand-out performers if we're to pull it off. You can get results from the most unlikely of sources, we've shown that already this season. If we bring in a respectable points haul, 4 or 5 points, from those games then it will hinge on how we do in that run-in, against weaker opposition. This is where we tripped up in the first half of the season, but hopefully we'll use that experience to our advantage now.
shailen Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 I think the PL is strange this year. Chelsea and City are easily the best teams in the league, yet if you pressurise either of them they're susceptible to mistakes. Then you've got United, Arsenal, Spurs who are just missing that little bit to mount a title challenge, yet all have obvious weaknesses that can be exploited. Then really any of the next 15.teams can beat one another. Whats good about having all the big teams in one go, is that Nige can set the team and tactics he wants and not change them in the next few games which will only benefit the players. I think with the momentum and continuity we can shock a few people
Crinklyfox Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 History has never won a game of football, so I'm not going to predict any results based on the past. The players have to go into every match believing that they can win it, and so will I. The top teams are beatable if they have an off day or have to shuffle their sides because of European commitments and injuries. Conversely just because Palace are near the bottom doesn't guarantee us an easy ride, I'm genuinely concerned that Palace will be a tough match that we could lose. We can't rely on the last few matches against the 'weaker' teams to save our season, we have to start picking up points now. Seven points from the next six would keep us in touch, any less would be a problem IMO.
The Blue Moon Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 4 points max, probably less. But who cares anyway, less plastics in the Championship and we're going to win the cup.
