Direct your anger towards the people that that for some reason believed it wouldn't go this way. He's acting how we knew he would, the teams playing how we knew they would, the fans hate it like we knew they would and it's as effective as we thought it would be. All of this only deepens and worsens until King Power and their lieutenants are gone.

The more I think about this, the more it worries me. Not necessarily because of Smallbone's quality, but what it means for our strategy. We have a manager that was an unpopular appointment and who's last couple of years make you question whether he should even carry on trying to be a football manager. Fast forward to now and after a poor start to the season he was hounded by the away fans in our last match. He's on the brink, from the fans point of view at least. Meanwhile, in the Leicester City board room, they have made him the highest paid manager in the Football League (allegedly) and given him SIXTEEN players, many of whom have played with him before, and despite the fact we are in the bottom half and despite the toxicity in the stands, the club are are still giving him what he wants. I fear we'll look back on this period like we do the period of time when Rodgers was given the keys to the club. What if this form continues? What if it gets too toxic? He'll be gone and will have left behind a squad that has been moulded around his needs and his particular style of the play, many of them on contracts are clearly too long and too expensive for League One. Any new manager and ownership is going to have a long battle to wash the Russell Martin out of this squad. It's a huge risk, placed in the lap of a man with no proof of being able to pull it off.

...because it is within the rules (ridoculously). The Premier League clubs had a chance recently to close the loophole but voted against it.

Another egg in the Russell Martin basket. Another high-earner for League One. It's all making it harder and harder for a new ownership if this doesn't work out.

This will happen regardless. I urge everyone to do a quick google of Turki Al-Sheikh and then ask yourself whether you want our football club associated with any of that. If you think Top doesn't like criticism, just you wait.

I think it will be Turki Al-Sheikh. Top himself said in his interview that the club isn’t for sale, except if a rich prince comes along. He’ll see that as a victory.

If you want something to happen, make it happen. Asking other people to do it isn’t going to work.

I think it would be equally as awful to watch, just in a different way, and therefore wouldn't solve the toxicity in the stands.

I don't feel any anger towards Martin. You know what you are getting with him. You don't buy a dog and then wonder why it only barks. All of my anger is that the decision-makers who thought it would be a good idea. No other football club in the country makes that decision. A year previous he was being called a w*nker at Bournemouth away, and then they decide to bring him in right at time when they needed to get the fans back on board. I almost don't want him to be sacked yet as I'm scared about what Rudkin's contact book will come up with next.

It's such King Power thinking to hire Russell Martin, give him 14 players and then sack him for Sean Dyche.

Rowett was a fire fighter, I didn’t include him. Marti was absolutely trying to instil possession football, he was just really bad at it. It was still low tempo nonsense. He convinced the board that he could do it.

I don’t buy that every style has been different. Cooper constantly spoke about continuing the style of Enzo. Ruud was Dutch. Marti constantly spoke about Cruyff and Barcelona. Russell Martin is Russell Martin. Every appointment has been to fulfill Top’s dream of “playing like Man City”. The club have never deviated.

It needs less threads and social media posts about restarting the protests, and more people doing something about it. We can’t just rely on the same people.

I for one can not see any problems with basing our squad rebuild around players that Russell Martin likes and/or has worked with before. None at all.
