Radovan's Caravan Posted 14 September 2009 Share Posted 14 September 2009 Seen a few of his finishes on footie tube and must say that I am impressed (and as you all know as this forum's resident English footie hater in residence it would take something special in the English football department to impress me). I like his technique and his coolness (now why does one Frank Worthington spring to mind?). Some very old pretenders to the England strikers' slots could learn a thing or two from this young Turk. Like how not to bottle a one on one...

Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 September 2009 Share Posted 14 September 2009 Like how not to bottle a one on one... I particularly liked how he didn't bottle that one on one against Northampton at home last season. And S****horpe away when we got relegated. And Millwall away last year. That's just off the top of my head. Not that I dislike him, but he's hardly the king of one on ones.
Salieri Posted 14 September 2009 Share Posted 14 September 2009 Fryatt has indeed bottled many a one on one in his time BUT he is improving all the time, and he has bags of confidence which is helping. I've been really impressed on how he's come on under Pearson and if he continues in this vein, he could become a very good striker. I can definitely see him becoming a decent Premier League striker, with or without us. (stop laughing! )
Hugo Sanchez Posted 14 September 2009 Share Posted 14 September 2009 Fryatt our key man, ask any other fans on match days. Which Leicester player do you rate and they will say Fryatt. The lad has finished off where he left off last season. I don't get why city fans slag him off, he's proving to be one of the best strikers in this league. Radovan's Caravan Posted 14 September 2009 Author Share Posted 14 September 2009 I suggest you watch him a bit more. Maybe I should. But I've never ever seen one of your former winners of the 'Ballon d'Or' even attempt to round a keeper. Not only has he been striking for over a decade, he's the greatest beneficiary of the through ball the sport has ever known.
peterborofox Posted 14 September 2009 Share Posted 14 September 2009 I think he is good but can be a lot better. Needs to learn not to be so greedy, and although his finishing was good vs Blackpool, sometimes his one on ones are shite.
Joe. Posted 14 September 2009 Share Posted 14 September 2009 Or how he missed an open goal at home to Stevenage. That was particularly brilliant.

Sparky Posted 14 September 2009 Share Posted 14 September 2009 Got a feeling this is heading for a Michael Owen abusefest !!! Fryatt and Owen in the same sentence , who would have thought it

Hugo Sanchez Posted 14 September 2009 Share Posted 14 September 2009 This. Don't forget the missed penalty vs. Windass! On that note does anyone know if he is still penalty taker? Think so, didn't he take the penalty against Southend ? Also Howard took over for abit and missed. So i think it went back to Fryatt.
