Stuliasz Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Paul Ifill has gone to CP for 750,000. Good signing for them. He's always been an impressive player in this division.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 January 2007 Author Posted 8 January 2007 Bardlsey's gone on loan to Villa for the remainder of the season, strange one.
Brummie-FOX Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Anthony Stokes - Arsenal to Sunderland - 2 million - Confirmed.
Leonisco Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Palace complete swoop for Ifill Ifill started his career with Millwall Crystal Palace have signed winger Paul Ifill from Sheffield United for a fee of £750,000. The former Millwall player, 27, returns to London after agreeing a deal running until June 2009. Ifill joined the Blades in May 2005 but after helping them to promotion last season he has made only three Premiership appearances this term. He said: "I have come to a club that is geared for the Premiership again and that is what we are hoping for." Ifill added: "It wasn't a difficult choice and I'm looking forward to it now. "I had been talking to another club but my agent rang and told me that Palace were interested and from there it was pretty straightforward really. "People will know I used to be at Millwall, so I know the area and I know a few of the lads and that makes it easier in that respect." Ifill will be in Palace's squad for Saturday's trip to Coventry City. Link Aaaargh, once again we miss out on a player we really could have done with.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 It's a shame the MM deal couldn't be secured in time to allow us to launch a bid for him. Good winger at this level and will boost Palace nicely. Fair price too.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 They are both rated as good prospects. I would have thought that they would let one go, or the other (to the right club - on loan) but not both. Hopefully RK's ties with Blackburn may help us string out a loan deal for either of them. Blackburn also have a good winger in Sergio Peter (i think thats his name).
dandannieldanok Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Matt Kilgallon Leeds > Sheff Utd £1.75 mil
Milky Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Matt Kilgallon Leeds > Sheff Utd £1.75 mil leeds aren't greater than sheff U, not anymore.
MC Prussian Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Nigel Quashie joins West Ham for an initial £ 1.5m (and an additionnal £ 250'000) Anthony Stokes from Arsenal to Sunderland for £ 2m Paul Ifill to Crystal Palace (£ 750'000)
Brummie-FOX Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Not too sure why everybody is excited about Anthony Stokes. Fine, he’s cut it in the SPL. That must be hard. Even League 1 is more competitive.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Not too sure why everybody is excited about Anthony Stokes. Fine, he’s cut it in the SPL. That must be hard. Even League 1 is more competitive. Good poitn but I'd would have been excited if Leicester had signed him.
Joe. Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Paul Ifill has gone to CP for 750,000. There goes my ideal signing... <_< Dammit
shen Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Is it just me that thinks the prices paid for some of these players is way above their actual value?
Joe. Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Is it just me that thinks the prices paid for some of these players is way above their actual value? It's hard to buy players for reasonable prices. Teams don't want to sell their best players so clubs have to settle for over-priced also-rans. Clubs need to part with lots of cash to just get a reasonable Premiership player nowadays.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Is it just me that thinks the prices paid for some of these players is way above their actual value? Yes but that is the way top-level football has become. Sunderland have taken a huge risk in paying Arsenal £2.5 million for a totally unproven striker. Half a season at Falkirk, coupled with a dozen goals or so and suddenly his price just rises unstoppably.
Finnegan Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 Really sick and tired of the "omfg rofl SPL is worse den league one!!!11" attitude. It's unintelligent and childish. Anthony Stokes has consistently scored goals against some good clubs in a physical and competitive league. Sure, half of the SPL is a little weak, but he's outshooting the likes of Venegoor of Hesselink, Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller and that's no mean feat. I'd have him at Leicester any day.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 January 2007 Author Posted 9 January 2007 Derby sign Craig Fagan, these investators of theres must have some serious cash. Deal is £750,000.
Milky Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 Derby sign Craig Fagan, these investators of theres must have some serious cash. Deal is £750,000. there must be better players for that sort of money
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 January 2007 Author Posted 9 January 2007 there must be better players for that sort of money Well thats what I thought.
Janx Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 Like Quashie, always have ...battler... Stokes... brilliant striker, dont be fooled by all that SPL bollox!
dandannieldanok Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 Derby sign Craig Fagan, these investators of theres must have some serious cash. Deal is £750,000. Don't quash the credability of that signing. Fagan is a good player for this level and could provide the ammunition to help promote Derby.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 kilgallon signing was a bargain I'm not sure about that at all, he struggled to get in a Leeds side under Wise that has constantly leaked goals.
