lildave3 Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 and he been relegated with west brom, southampton, forest and qpr not got the best of records has he Stayed up with Pompey though. He is a good midfielder, just not worth that much.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 January 2007 Author Posted 10 January 2007 Don't quash the credability of that signing. Fagan is a good player for this level and could provide the ammunition to help promote Derby. 750 Grand!!!?? I'll quash it all I want mate. Christian Wilhelmsson has gone to Roma on loan, good signing for them IMO.
sam_lcfc Posted 10 January 2007 Posted 10 January 2007 "Sunderland are set to sell Jon Stead and Chris Brown after accepting offers for the strikers. Stead has just returned to The Stadium of Light after scoring three goals in 17 appearances on loan at Derby County. He had been keen to join The Rams permanently, but the promotion hopefuls are not the club to have a bid accepted by Sunderland. Brown, who has netted three times in 16 outings this season, could also be on his way out after Roy Keane agreed to an offer from an unnamed club. Keane confirmed Derby had a bid for Stead rejected last week and explained his reasons for accepting the two offers. "Jon Stead and Chris Brown were last night given permission to speak to clubs and they are in talks as we speak," Keane told the club's official website. "It's not Derby (for Stead). They made a bid last week which we turned down. "Another club came on to me two nights ago, we've agreed a deal and I spoke to Jon last night. He's gone for talks and we'll see what happens. "With us bringing in Carlos (Edwards), it will release Stephen Elliott to play up front. We have David Connolly, Daryl Murphy and now we've got Anthony Stokes, and we've also got Yorkie. "I didn't want too many players going out on loan again, but we said that if one or two concrete offers came in, we'd consider them and then I would put it to the players." Please God, don't let this random club be us...I mean am I misguided in thinking Leicester could still attract better players than this?! For god sake, he was crap at Derby, even though they were winning! Imagine how bad he would be in our already inconsistant team!!! So many better players playing in league one and even league two right now. What does everybody else reckon?!
Surreal Madrid Posted 10 January 2007 Posted 10 January 2007 Don't worry - as of now we have no money, and if MM comes in I fancy it will only be loan signings this Jan - any permanent moves would be made in the Summer when he's decided who will be managing the club for next season.

FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 10 January 2007 Posted 10 January 2007 For god sake, he was crap at Derby, even though they were winning! He actaully played quite well during his pell at Derby, hence them making an offer for him last week!!
Leicester Lass Posted 10 January 2007 Posted 10 January 2007 Stead and Brown are surplus to Sunderland's requirements Sunderland have accepted a bid from Sheffield United for Jon Stead and an offer from Norwich for fellow striker Chris Brown, BBC Sport understands. Manager Roy Keane has given the pair permission to speak to the clubs after deciding to balance the books after signing Anthony Stokes for £2.2m. Stead, 23, has disappointed on Wearside after a £1.8m move from Blackburn and has been on loan at Derby this season. Brown, 22, has made 10 starts and 16 outings this term, scoring three goals. Press conference: Sunderland boss Roy Keane Stead moved to the Stadium of Light in June 2005 but has scored just two goals in 39 appearances, including one in this campaign against Southend. He slotted three times in 17 matches in a subsequent three-month spell at Derby, but Keane rejected County's overtures for the player. "They made a bid last week which we turned down," Keane confirmed. "Another club came on to me two nights ago, we've agreed a deal and I spoke to Jon who's gone for talks and we'll see what happens. 606 DEBATE: Give your reaction to this news "I didn't want too many players going out on loan again, but we said if one or two concrete offers came in we'd consider them and I'd put it to the players. "I spoke with Jon and Chris and they have gone for talks." Brown, son of former Black Cats star Alan, has scored 11 goals in 67 appearances since coming through the ranks and progressing to the first team in 2003. He had a productive spell at Doncaster in his first season as a professional and was also loaned out to Hull in late 2005. But with Stokes joining from the Gunners and David Connolly, Daryl Murphy, Dwight Yorke and Stephen Elliott also competing for attacking berths, chances will be at a premium in the second half of the season. Meanwhile, midfielder Tommy Miller's chances of a permanent move to Preston, where he has been on loan, are ongoing. Keane revealed he and North End boss Paul Simpson have spoken, but there is still ground to be covered. He said: "We spoke about Tommy and I told him to come back to me and put some sort of package together if they want to speak to him. I have left that with him."

RowlattsFox Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 derby must of spent around £5m now overall, teales a decent player who would of solved our right mid problems
bigneville Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 But we dont have any money until Milan saves's us....
MC Prussian Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 And only 20 days to go before the window closes again... And we need at least two to three reinforcements if we want to stand a chance for the second half of the season. Already 30 seconds more have passed without a signing... Frightening thought.
RowlattsFox Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 luton are going to strugle to stay in this division now unless they spend the money well. they sold the best two players, edwards and vine, and they wernt doing that well with them.
Head Honcho Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 Far too much money for him. I like this quote: "Quashie wasted little time in signing a three-and-a-half year contract with the Premiership strugglers" I'll bet he didn't Championship class he is and will be back there next season!
Ric Flair Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 derby must of spent around £5m now overall, teales a decent player who would of solved our right mid problems Struggling to understand where Derby are getting their money from. This time last season they were in the shit big time and although they got new owners, they still owe a hell of a lot of money.
