Steven Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 According to Skysports we have missed out on a major signing. Barnsley beat Norwich, Leicester and a Turkish club to the signing of Miguel Mostto, according to boss Simon Davey. The Tykes landed the Peruvian striker on a two-year contract last week, subject to him obtaining a work permit. Mostto cost a six-figure sum from Cienciano and it appears he was not short of suitors, with Barnsley fighting off competition from Championship rivals.
Tubes Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 well thats a foolish decision really on hid behalf out of the 3 we are the ones going places surely he would choose us? but obviously not any knowledge of him anyone/manwell?
The Reverend Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Wow. Has been the top scorer in Peru for the last 2 season. We've really missed the boat there. He'll definitely score against us now
mark1983 Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 http://home.skysports.com/club.aspx?clid=13&cpid=10 never heard of him ?
Leonisco Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 He was mentioned in Tim Vickery's BBC Sport article the other day. Apparently he's a decent player, but there's a question mark over whether he'll be able to adapt to the physicality of English football.

"We had to fight off a lot of competition for his signature from Norwich and Leicester as well as a Turkish club," Davey told the Sheffield Star. "He was identified to us by a contact of mine. I watched him and was very impressed. "We have lots of business still to do but we won't be making announcements until agreements are 100 per cent made." apparently we went for this guy??
Stevosevic Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Quite funny how your knocking them signing an unknown, its not like we would ever do that

Daggers Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Anyone decent in Peruvian soccer would've been transfered to one of the bigger money teams in South America...I'll wager he is a showpony without bollocks. By the way, those aren't the good sort of show ponies.
Brainy Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Apparently theres a thread about it in the GF&S forum.

Charnwood Norris Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 what! now hes good! get him in milan! 76 goals in 126! Aye, he's a good player , seen on five T.V's MLS coverage a few times, good age too. Heard he was linked to some Championship clubs, names disclosed as usual. He must be on peanuts in that league.
BartonFox Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Carlos Ruiz is shite, we were linked to him during the last MA days.
Dames Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 We lost out to Barnsley on a player. This is getting ridiculous now. I know people are hating the moaners right now but really we should not be second best to these teams if we are at all serious about achieving anything.

Gené and Tonic Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 True, but the point is we were shunned for Barnsley. That should not be happening, unless we told him he wouldn't be a key player and they did.
MPH Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 True, but the point is we were shunned for Barnsley. That should not be happening, unless we told him he wouldn't be a key player and they did. well if MM is willing to pay hendrie 20k a week to get him to sign it suggests we will have to tighten the belt i reckon on some other signings.. put it this way... barnsley lost out to us on n'gotty, Jimmy nielson, sappleton and infact every single signing we have made so far so im not bothered by it.

A gelding then, well behaved, easy to control, best for equestrian events lacking strength, vitality, or power due to be without said bollocks. I'm glad we didn't sign him, doesn't sound like an Allen player.
Tevez Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Striker with Pizzaro, i think he'll be decent in the championship.
