Simi Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 Not the best of times for us to meet Plymouth really. They'll not need much motivation for this game, nor should we after yesterday either. I hope we see a couple of changes to the team, personally I feel it's needed. Alnwick Stearman----Kisnorbo-----McAuley-----ClaphamBori-------Clemence--------Oakley-------LaczkoHoward------DJ If Clapham can get down to work quickly and find some fitness I'd like to see him start ahead of Mattock, he's been at fault for a couple of goals lately, perhaps time for a change. Hume wide right isn't working for me either, we need natural wingers and we need to use them effectively. As we did against Coventry. Hayles hasn't done a lot wrong. However DJ is a better partner in my opinion should he maintain match fitness. And finally, I wonder how long it will take for the rallying call from a member of the squad to be the 12th man or get behind the boys!

I'd drop Clemence for Wesolowski as well why no Hume? because he's been crap and has done nothing to deserve to be left out
Asha Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 why no Hume? He's not irreplaceable, he's not a god on any kind. He's just not performing astonishingly well atm. But then again he's been in the team every week for a good few years now. Maybe complacency and arrogance have started to settle in?
Jimmy Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 Did someone say Stearman was suspended? well Chambers is just as good, am I the only 1 that wouldn't mind seeing Stearman used as a CB for a couple of games?
Simi Posted 3 February 2008 Author Posted 3 February 2008 why no Hume? For me, lately he has been ineffective. That includes Palace, Norwich and Southampton. He did well against Coventry however. This is down to him playing wide in my view. I wouldn't object to him playing up-front to be honest if DJ isn't 100% ready yet.
Stevosevic Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 Have to win, just have to, the current position is unacceptable.
Simi Posted 3 February 2008 Author Posted 3 February 2008 Did someone say Stearman was suspended? According to the OS he's had 4 bookings this season. I'm not sure whether that includes yesterday or not.
Jimmy Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 According to the OS he's had 4 bookings this season.I'm not sure whether that includes yesterday or not. well according to the squad profile page Clapham doesn't play for us ...

Mark Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 Same for me, but think i would be tempted to stick with Mattock. We should as Mattock hasn't put a foot wrong at home, and anyway Blackpools second goal came from a hoof to our left hand side after he'd be replaced and still couldn't deal with it. I fear we'll end up playing Clapham and Mattock together.
Mark Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 ------------------- Alnwick Stearman----Kisnorbo-----McAuley-----Mattock Bori-------Clemence-------Oakley------Lackzo (Gradel if he can be recalled) ----------- Hume------Campbell

Daggers Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 Alnwick Stearman----Kisnorbo-----McAuley-----ClaphamBori-------Clemence--------Oakley-------LaczkoHoward------DJ That'd be my choice too

Maybes Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 i agree with that Hume has been very poor of late. He should be benched. As for the teams above I pretty much agree with them. Not sure about clapham or mattock though.
Mark Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 Hume has been very poor of late. He should be benched. As for the teams above I pretty much agree with them. Not sure about clapham or mattock though. That I agree but he was brilliant in his last match up front 4 games ago, he shouldn't have had to be played out of position but has due to the managers inability to fix the wide positions when he had the chance to.

Yes. I hate him being right wing. When will holloway learn and not play him there. Im suprised Bori hasn't really being seeing too much action as what I've seen of him so far he's been more consistant than Laszcko
davieG Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 If we're going 442 then we should have 2 wingers Gabor & Zsolts if not we should go 433 442 Alnwick Stearman/Chambers McAuley Kisnorbo Mattock/ClaphamBori Oakley Clemence LaczkoHoward CampbellChambers if Stearman is suspended, I'm not sure on the Mattock/Clapham choice, Mattock's seemed ok when I've seen him and Clapham seems a long way off fit.443Alnwick Stearman/Chambers McAuley Kisnorbo Mattock/ClaphamOakley Weso ClemenceHume Howard Campbell
Bryn Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 Gradel played left wing for Bournemouth yesterday apparently. Really needs to be recalled.
Daggers Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 Yes. I hate him being right wing. When will holloway learn and not play him there. Im suprised Bori hasn't really being seeing too much action as what I've seen of him so far he's been more consistant than Laszcko It seems as though he was won over by Hume's industry when he first arrived at the club, or persuaded by the rampant "Huuuuuuume"ing going on around the stadium on match days, and feels he has to shoehorn him into the side even though he is no longer first choice forward.
SamL Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 I'd be tempted to go with: Alnwick Chambers Kisnorbo Mcauley Mattock Bori Oakley Weso/Clemence Zsolt Howard Fryatt/Dj Hume could do with a rest as he hasn't really been himself of late, with Fryatt coming in if Dj's not fully fit. Unsure of whether to play Weso or Clemence though. I thought Weso played pretty well against Norwich.
Maybes Posted 3 February 2008 Posted 3 February 2008 Campbell needs to be given a run of games to get himself going. He is by far the quickest forward we have got and his pace will scare defences, if we get balls played to his feet so he can run at people.
