knowitall Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Harry is to go out on loan to Luton Town. Harry has been told by a League One club that they want him on loan, but need to "move a player out first" This was said to him two weeks ago. Harry has got fed up waiting and has taken the chance to play first team football. He has done this because he wants to play football and in the hope NP will take notice. Dont know when this will be made public as no terms between the two clubs have yet been agreed.
Flynny Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Cheers knowitall. Nice to have something irrefutably concrete (assuming we get confirmation soon) too. Stay posting mate.
davieG Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 I hope it's true because he needs plenty of games; from what I've seen of him at CB he's got a long, long way to go and he wont be replacing Tunchev, Hobbs or Morrison anytime soon.

Agreed, Holloway has ruined the perception of this young lad, alot people having watched him against Stoke have a negative image of his abilities. Hopefully he will come back stronger and make a challenge to the CB position!!

Actually that's about the only game I didn't see him play, i wouldn't judge him on that anyway because he was out of position. He's looked occasionally adequate at reserve level.

Tilley Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 Thanks knowitall, This is good news for everyone. Hopefully he will get some first team experience.

This isn't my perception, but what people around me were saying!! I wasn't disagreeing with you, I just feel he really is at a stage where he needs some tough games and where people have their backs to the wall - Luton sounds ideal he could do a lot of growing up there.

clazkel Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 I feel sorry for him, we signed in an he hasn't featured at any point this season. He would've been better staying at Chelsea and being loaned out. I thought he looked ok the few times i've seen him, he deserves a chance. Morrison looked shakey in pre-season but Pearson stuck with him and he has improved and seems to be more confident. If he goes on loan and hopefully he'll get a first team place and show what he can do

Joe. Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 I still don't think he'll make it here with us, but it's a good move for him to get noticed. He's got some serious work to do to shift Tunchev, Morrison and Kisnorbo who would all be ahead of him in the future.

We knew we weren't getting the finished article and therefore have a duty to try and turn him into one. This won't be done overnight or even this season but hopefully by this time next year we may have another adequate squad player.

He's got potential but why he was ever used in the first team at this stage is beyond me and I don't think I have a reputation for being cautious about youngsters getting a break. Luton should be an excellent move. They have always struck me as a footballing side and~Worley is a footballing centre-back. He's got to build up his strength, cut out silly errors and improve his concentration, his determination and his choices. This year is not about feeling sorry for himself after being so ridiculously flattered by Holloway's decision to play him at Stoke. It is about recognising where he's really at and learning to do better. Good luck to the lad. He's still got a chance.

Corky Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 The boy needs first-team football, this is a good move for him.
clazkel Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 I don't think he had the choice of staying at Chelsea. Oh, i didn't realise that, well i suppose he's lucky Leicester signed him. I think he will make it tho!

The lad is so far back in the pecking order, he'd be thanking Lady Luck if he get as much as a sniff in the first team squad. I quite like Worley. I think he's a decent centre back, but obviously needs to be worked on. And Luton has always struck me as a good footballing side so this strikes me as a good move. I still wouldn't get rid of him. I'm probably in the minority here, but I see something in the lad. He's a footballing centre back.

Next season will we have Hobbs or Kisnorbo? Not garunteed at all. Worley will go straight up as Morrison or Tunch's replacement. And I hope he does, from Stoke we seen he is a composed player and can pass the ball about instead of the lump forward so he brings something good to the team. Loaning him out this season is the right thing to do but I would like to see him going to a promotion challenging League 2 or a mid table League 1 side. Being beat week in week out for Luton isnt going to show us what he can do.
Daggers Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 Seen nothing to make me think he'll ever make a decent player for us which leaves me thinking the only reason so many people believe in him is because he came to us from West London. I suspect this is at the root of him believing he is deserving of regular footy too. Pearson hasn't overlooked him because he isn't getting games - he isn't getting games because Pearson HAS looked at him. If anyone can spot deficiencies in a centre-back then it'd be the current man in charge. I'll be amazed if we ever see him playing for the first team again.

I think it will, he'll certainly be kept busy what we don't need for him is an easy ride he needs to be put under pressure, as long as he knows he got options here losing regularly shouldn't affect him adversely. We also need to ensure he gets plenty of games a side winning a lot would probably only want him as emergency cover.
Tevez Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Good move for the lad, will be decent next year I think. U.Albert has covered all the points I would of said.
