Premier League Thread 2018/19 stuff it in here.

I think facilities are important too, if you're showing someone round a state of the art training ground that helps compared to dragging them into the local park for a kickabout -
I saw him play for Mansfield a few years ago, tripped up trying to take a corner. Really makes you think.
-
I'm guessing they need to clear out a few players to be able to bring anyone in, which is why Iborra has gone first as someone wanted to give us actual money for him. Still, think it's a bit of a risk as Puel did at least trust him to be on the fringes of the team and we're really light there now
-
I love that everyone has such strong opinions on him, I honestly have no idea whether he's any good. You can sort of see what he's trying a lot of the time, it usually doesn't work. Some of his one touch stuff is decent, but he also looks really passive a lot. I think his face doesn't help since it's basically this at all times:

Anyone slagging Maddison is genuinely insane. The kid is brilliant i don’t really like Gray up front but you can see why he played for the pace and pressing up front. It didn’t really work but at least the theory made sense. And Morgan won’t be there for long, it’s just that Evans is still not up to speed and Soyuncu isn’t fit. Everyone be patient cos we are good and the team is really young.

We won the league with 2 and an Ulloa. The prosecution rests Would've won it by 20 points if Kramaric was ever allowed to play
-
Really? We only play 1 striker, we could possibly play 3 centre backs. How many games has our 4th striker played the last few years? Never mind a 5th or 6th one.
-
To be fair our left wing back was rampaging forward on 70 yard runs in the last minute so it's not as if he told everyone to stand on the line. Thought he got it pretty much spot on after the red. Very glad Ings scored last weekend otherwise he'd be a prime candidate to the next shitehawk who hasn't scored in a million years to bag against us.

Funny thing is I thought Sutton was quite good on that world cup daily podcast they did over the summer. But he's consistently shit on every other outlet I've ever seen him on
-
The whole tackle was weirdly aggressive out of nowhere, he just goes flying in for no reason and takes a huge risk. Chilwell and Gray look good so far. I dunno whether it’s just knowing the manager believes in them but they seem a lot more assured than last year.
-
It was an absolutely dreadful tackle from Vardy let’s be honest A lot of their chances early seemed to come from stupid mistakes from us, then we looked miles better for the last bit of the first half. Defensively display after the red was really good. Summary: dunno. No chance wolves will go down though, they’re a good team, that probably looks a better 3 points at the end of the season than it does now. Teams are gonna start putting a man on Maddison because when we get him in the game we look really good
-
Yeah I’m worried that no one has noticed this. The sheer volume of long diagonals to the keeper might break the pass maps
-
Is it because our right backs are bad
-
Worth saying that on a podcast the other day I heard Andy Brassell talk about Ghezzal and he said he was pretty good defensively. Does a lot of pressing and that. I doubt he goes straight into the team but he might turn out to be a bit different to Mahrez. I don't think Puel is a huge fan of Albrighton tbh, I wouldn't be hugely surprised if he kept the right side the same
-
Pretty positive, there’s a good team there but I’ve thought that for ages. Morgan was a bit iffy and in general we’ve got to cut out the random brain fades that happen in our own half. Wilf was doing it as well, just suddenly slots a ball straight to them. But they did really well to recover from that start and have the confidence to dominate the game. Also think we need to work out what we’re doing when we get the ball wide. Chilwell was great but not sure the point of him whipping the ball into the back post cos we just don’t have anyone to get on the end of it. They dealt with every cross pretty easily.
-
Chilwell always looks well out of place on the wing. From pre season I can see Ricardo playing further forward but surely would be Albrighton on the left. (if we wanted to go proper defensive I mean)
-
I'll be stunned if it isn't the full United first team tbh
-
Had no idea he was already 23. Makes more sense based on that
-
Not sure where the Shinji stuff has come from other than him being back late from the World Cup so missed our friendlies. Not been any talk of him going has there? Assuming Slimani and Ulloa go we need to keep some actual depth up front and he's still good.
-
There's also an "exceptional talent" way of getting round those rules too isn't there? Always quite an impressive feat to get a work permit turned down
-
4-0 us with that team ^
-
Especially when every match thread so far has been full of crying about our lack of defenders
-
"He has a man bag" is the greatest criticism of a manager I've ever heard. Also we have actually got 3 more weeks to shift the deadwood. Only the PL window shuts on Thursday.
-
How have they justified putting United in the headline
-
Simpson is getting bombed out because Puel wants his full backs to be able to play and he clearly can't. Every time we were behind last year he got taken off, he offered no support to Mahrez going forward at all. Morgan is probably third choice CB at this point but you can't just get rid of all the leaders. Look at how much impact Huth had when he came in a couple of years ago, leadership is important especially in defence.
