  1. It was our record net spend! Beggars belief we were in the FFP mire signed who we did
  2. I would love to know our transfer process, well there probably isn’t. Just all ad hoc yes/no on Rudkin’s say so. I bet the scouts and analysts do find some gems but then the latest bozo in the dugout wants their own toys (Skipp, Ayew, Reid) rather than trusting the people with a clue. A director of football is literally there to stop this sort of thing happening but he seems to facilitate it instead.
  3. Ward and Soumare have been the most harmful. Skipp the most idiotic.
  4. @Dan and I have had our doubts about Top even in 2019/20. The Vichai worship never sat right anyway so I’ve always been more sceptical in the first place. Rodgers was a good appointment, we were largely getting our transfer business right but after Macia left - we appointed Congerton (Rodgers bumchum) who has played a key hand in Hamburg’s, Sunderland and Leicester’s downfall. That was all I needed to know.
  5. I think he is probably sub-Bednar level. Nothing to his game at all
  6. He’ll give a penalty away or get a red before he scores - sack of shit
  7. Absolute c unts. Make no noise all game and then performatively clap the players off in our ‘Kop’. Wasters
  8. It’s like extending a house you plan on leaving in year anyway with how we play shit, ageing dossers who have a year or two left. If it becomes very apparent we’re not going up (a few weeks imo) we have to start playing these players - otherwise we’re doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. We’ve raised about £140m from academy grads - the proof of concept is there. If Evans and Nelson leave and flourish elsewhere we‘ll deserve it at this trajectory.
  9. Looking at his career he’s more of an instant impact sort of manager and wanes year on year. I do like like him, he comes across well but I fear he’s a mediocre manger and currently he’s making us worse than the sum of our parts. The main problems are above but that doesn’t mean he should be unsackable. If we do get a deduction we are in relegation trouble and that should be unfathomable.
  10. Penalties are scored about 75-78% of the time
  11. He doesn’t miss one every time he plays ffs. The Millwall chance was 0.04 xG using Opta’s model
  12. C'mon Kneegrave was right there
  13. Everi hopefully
  14. There isn't as much variance in finishing ability long term as you'd expect. Even the very best finishers only overperform xG by about 10% or 20% max. Haaland has 79 non-pen PL goals from 72 non-penalty xG - the quality of chance is much more important than quality of finishing.
  15. A good striker isn’t getting that chance because they’d be in the 6 yard box. We create **** all for anybody, there’s been essentially no 1 v 1s, tap ins or cut backs. Daka basically got 1 in 2 per 90 on the championship last time. He’s barely even had a good chance let alone missed them. At worse is similar levels Carranza has made a career of poacher type finishes. It’s either all of these strikers aren’t cataclysmically shitter than they ever have been (it is possible tbh) or we just aren’t coached well in attack. The strikers aren’t great but historically Cifuentes’ strikers average about 8 goals a season. His first Hammarby was the last time he had forwards do well. If we dropped Kone into this this side (he’s playing partially as support striker/10 anyway), he’d have the same issue of us just not creating much at all.
  16. Yeah I’m a big KP hater but I wasn’t as annoyed as most about this. Would have been a bit more community minded if they’d just charged £5, pay what you want or a donation to Vichai foundation or something
  17. The lack of service is the problem. How many sitters have we missed? Carranza at Swansea when we 3-1 up is about the only one.
  18. Ah - that’s what fbref/capology said
  19. Additionally Klopp and Pep played very, very similar styles of football when they were contesting the title. Both built up from the back, they both pressed high and the both scored lots of counters. Perception is everything in these sorts of arguments. What's always lacking is the acceptance of different managers coach the same style of football to different levels of success. This style of play would work better if Cifuentes wasn't such a mediocre manager. We scored plenty of 1 on 1s and cutbacks playing drudging possession football under Maresca, Cifuenets just doesn't have the ability.
  20. How is it Guardiola's fault worse managers unsuccessfully ape his style of play? It's Russel Martin's fault Russel Martin is a braindead manager. People don't blame McDonalds when a greasy food van serves up a shit burger.
  21. Deal runs out at the end of the season, scores and assists, 6'4 https://fbref.com/en/players/731f1f5a/Steve-Ngoura This guy looks very good stats-wise and isn't starting as many as he should in Argentina, pretty handy in the air too. https://fbref.com/en/players/e76ff509/Jose-Romero Stats juiced by playing in Brazil I think but oh my - probably can't afford and he'd have better offers anyway but you have to try https://fbref.com/en/players/e1426a52/Jose-Manuel-Lopez
  22. Admittedly game state tax but he's looked at his best in midfield and wide areas either at RB or the wide CB when chasing games. In the absence of having no real DM aside from Choudhury (Faes is better technically I think) it is worth trying.
  23. Lots of crap throw ins and corners too. We're second for corners
  24. From the study This study presents new evidence of the financial impact of wind generation on the UK energy market, challenging the idea that sustainability, security, and affordability, are always in conflict. From 2010 to 2023, wind power delivered a net benefit of £104.3 billion to UK consumers—£14.2 billion from lower electricity prices and £133.3 billion from reduced natural gas prices, partially offset by £43.2 billion in wind energy subsidies. Bit disingenuous
  25. I think Ferguson will end up at Hearts on loan. Don't know what he'd cost but he's 21, target man, good all round game (loose passing perhaps) https://fbref.com/en/players/58468842/Nacho-Ferri
