  1. Reggie Walsh played in the conference league for Chelsea a few times last season for Chelsea. Its pretty mad that Monga and Dowman would be eligible
  2. I'm sure Textor/Botafogo etc are paid in kind some way but there will always be more scrutiny with the authorities (imo) overreach so it will run out of road
  3. Missing You - the writing is so bad. The protagonist is just continually lied to by everybody close to her and they all just conspire to keep lying - despite her finding out she’s just… fine with it. Everybody all lives in the nicest houses ever, semi-apparent it’s set in Manchester but everybody is Southern. Everything takes the most socially progressive turn you can imagine too to the point it’s tiresome. Proper Netflix slop
  4. Eventually those clubs are in the shit FFP wise though too. They're one of the few clubs who have had a deduction as well. Given I think the financial stuff is all a farce it's quite commendable they make a mockery of it.
  5. He didn't have a massive contract but still would have been on massive money. They wouldn't have planned for two payouts so hopefully this is massively constraining - plus it means they give more time than they should for Dyche if he turns out to be a disaster.
  6. There’s probably about a 50/50 chance he doesn’t which is absurd
  7. Nice. Carranza you have two months to not be shit otherwise you're gonna be stuck in a Schiphol queue for hours. A left back that doesn't play with polio would be great
  8. How many kaons can we have domestically and from abroad? Need to max out the quota to freshen up the squad more. Ramsey and James already look like two of our better players
  9. Ricardo’s goals were good but were from throwing caution to wind (well in the moderate Cifuentes way)while chasing the game and it’s pretty clear Cifuentes doesn’t actually want the RB in the box - despite looking better when we do. Monga scored against Preston, it was the CBs that scored from set pieces against a knackered 10-man Wednesday. Even Monga’s goal was from a low quality change the keeper should probably have saved. We’re fine in the middle third generally but the positional play is far too dogmatic, there’s so little fluidity because the wingers are tasked with staying too wide. The full backs mostly are rooted to the spot - Thomas’ chance only happens because we’re chasing the game again. We need to increase the risk tolerance across the board as it’s not like the cautious approach at the minutes isn’t risky - we’ve thrown 4 points away against Wrexham and Portsmouth in a cowardly fashion. Just like the 2-2 at Palace last season.
  10. The talk of a project is fine if there is any hint he’s favouring long term success. Vestergaard and Faes over Nelson and Okoli is the exact opposite. His handbrake football isn’t going to click at some point because we’re just too risk averse. Like Puel and Maresca at his worst he’s overly concerned with control and keeping our shape in possession. We’ve scored two decent goal from a coaching POV all season, James against Wrexham and Ramsey at the weekend. Essentially zero chance of promotion if the strikers in a side NEVER get any chances made. I like him on a personal level but if he dogmatically persists with a system that doesn’t work then he deserves the sack.
  11. Another Rudkin jobs for the academy boys extension.
  12. Dived in twice and cost us goals this season. But Ben Nelson had bad game in the League Cup 2 months ago so hard to say what we should do.
  13. I like Cifuentes off the pitch but it’s now clear he’s a dogmatic 2010’s old hat manager. It’s like Puel at lower bar with a relatively stronger squad - if he doesn’t go back to the drawing board soon he serves the sack
  14. Emery went to Villa just as we were hitting our slump. Started badly at Villa this season but they went from 14th to 7th, 4th and 6th last season.
  15. No but I don't think he'd ask for that - the only way he's getting that at his age with injury record is in Saudi. They don't tend to go for free agents or pay big money to defenders.
  16. For balance's sake - a large proportion of Maccabi fans were looking for it, they knew what they were getting in for.
  17. Juve fans racially abused their own player relatively recently. The ban is in place because the police know they won't have handle on it (sort themselves out btw they normally like hay handed football policing), the safety committee will be spurred on by local politicians grievances masquerading as a safety issue.
  18. It didn't work out perfectly but Soyuncu and Benkovic were smart signings and integrated before the sale iirc. We were a bit smarter with Macia as HoR
  19. I'm not a fan but it's just convenient how local muslim politicians are bothered by unruly football fans now and they just happen to be jewish. 120 Juve fans were arrested in Amsterdam of all places, not a peep when they were playing Villa away https://football-italia.net/report-120-juventus-fans-arrested/
  20. And lots of other fans have done the same and aren't banned. Maccabi Tel Aviv fans haven't done what Frankfurt have. There was no hand wringing about PSG, or Juve turning up from local politicians.
  21. His deal is up at the end of the year. Should offer him a year with a club option to extend for a further year now - even if he can only play 50% of th minutes it's worth having him around if the wages aren't too unreasonable. We've been great to him given his injuries.
  22. Faes, Vestergaard and Nelson's deals all end in 2027. One doesn't want to be here and will be 29, one we shouldn't have extended anyway and will be 35 and the other will be a 23 year old academy grad. I wonder who will keep getting the minutes? This is a classic case study in Rudkin's negligence. He shouldn't have given Vestergaard the new deal, should have shifted Faes for a fee so the pathway for Nelson should be clear. It's almost grimly funny that he doesn't even overplay the academy. It's his life's work and trusting in the youth would be a plausible excuse for being so shit over the past few years, instead we have a promising pipeline and we we just play proven older failures instead. Genuinely the worst of all worlds. At this rate we'll lose Nelson for a low-ish fee (could have gotten more in the summer of course), he'll absolutely fly elsewhere and we(the fans) will be reeling.
  23. The hooligan justification feels bit convenient, plenty worse happens and fans aren't banned. The authorities understandably don't want the footage of Maccabi getting ran around Birmingham like they did in Amsterdam from the local muslim population.
  24. Prague/Amsterdam Madrid Krakow Edinburgh Brugge Budapest Copenhagen Rome Barcelona Tricky as visiting a city once is an ephemeral part of your life, if the order was slightly different I'd feel differently about a few. Rome and Copenhagen (to Aarhus/Randers) were following Leicester and it's about the worst way to see a place. Although Madrid was amazing.
  25. I was impressed with the Three Tuns last week. Much improved
