Agreed. Don’t think a provincial city pub manages it well. Just doesn’t fit. London seems capable of it. Infact I can think of two in Brum what managed it well/ or one of them did. Grub in pubs is village stuff for me.
-
Difficulty is unless you are ready to put the shift in outside of solely being a pub, you need the income. You either have to offer quizzes, tasting sessions, sport team hosting etc or go down the grub route. Can't keep a pub open just selling beer.

They didn’t. It was a loan deal

The forementioned woman from Stourbridge mentioned it takes her the same time to get from Rotterdam to London via rail as London to Stourbridge

Preferred Porto here. Find Portugal very relaxed on the whole but Lisbon is at the tipping edge of tourism in an Amsterdam fashion

Rotterdam incredibly under-rated for a weekend away. Architecturally outstanding and historically rich. Pretty good bars and foodie places - largely helped by a huge international university there. Found it hilarious when a waitress picked up we were East Midlanders. Mentioned she was originally from Stourbridge - rather hilariously thought we were Brits living in the Netherlands originally. Also Eurostar is an utter pleasure and a complete departure from the hell that can be flying - didn’t have a single delay, well organised and even East Mids Railway played ball. Provided you can get a decent train price from Leics to London - it works out better value on Eurostar and time wise is probably the same

Bromsgrove latest club having behind the scene issues. Although that reads more of a personality clash or a board which don’t want to move on.

Mentioned in the replies to their Twitter post that the operating company of Nuneaton Borough had a debt of £750k at last accounts

I’m not anti the system but I don’t think Brighton is the best example. They had to spend numerous seasons being pretty average and par. Then get the players in and start the season great under Potter before finally moving onto a manager with a system. But that needed a significant foundation to be built before their current success

Yep there you go. Gives the ball away, awful tackle

Random / Semi Unheard of Players you’ve spotted that we should look at

Felt like I was at @Ric Flairs very own wet dream last night watching Jong PSV. Five or six of their players were superb. Like really really good. Jamal Gonzaga, Xavi Simons brother, Tygo Land, Emmanuel Van De Blaak -
Struggle for sympathy to be honest. Same with Ilkeston

Suella is after nothing more than fame. She fancies part of the Trump / Bannon gravy train. She will end up not far off Katie Hopkins by the end. If I had one point to make to her, I’d ask what it would be like if a 12 yr old Suella was living now and if her parents moved to the UK now if they’d feel welcomed. Blows my mind that her mum stood as a Tory candidate in 2001.

According to the Guardian then, Israeli PM has twice rejected a five day ceasefire in exchange for hostages.
-
Yet he didn't feel like the need to mention that when the club rejected deals for him, that may have been in similar circumstances.

the snow fixture yeah. Lost 6-1 in August under Micky Adams after being relegated, then played Ipswich on Boxing Day at home that year. Of course, promoted

How many people have priority points

For a set of owners with their experience in retail, they have done nothing to improve ticketing and the club shop etc -
Just spoke to a client. He's a real tough customer. Made his money in pretty honest circumstances. Had my stresses with him at times. But normally we settle down with a good chat about footy. Asked him how he was - normally goes Dubai on holidays and home/away with Villa. Poor bloke got Hodgkin's lymphoma

Ipswich on Boxing Day on telly - like olden times
