We have 4 first team CBs on the books as well as a number of youth teamers that are rated quite highly. Use the money to sign the Mahrez replacement we've been crying out for and give the chance for some of these players we already have to impress. 45 million on an average Premier League CB is not good business, then again we can hardly talk when we are demanding a world record fee for a slightly above average Premier League CB.

I think he’ll be regretting moving to Utd by the end of the season. Their best player wants out, the manager is suspect and the fanbase is toxic. I guess the bumper pay rise will soften the blow but in terms of career progression its barely above a sidewards step at this moment in time. Manchester Utd have been on a decline for a long time now. 80m is good business for us though, means our net spend is going to be looking fairly good towards the end of the window if we can shift another 20m or so in assets.

Surely a club from China or the Middle East would fancy taking a punt?
-
So glad this is over the line. I’m excited to see who we sign next.
-
More than likely they are going to throw more money at Pogba. That whole situation stinks of him angling for a payrise.
-
I’ve never ever been this excited for a signing before, massive statement of intent. We are violating Monaco by only paying 40 million.
-
Imagine how much better off we might of been last season with those 'average' 12 goals. We are a team that generally relies on one player to score our goals and we need to spread that burden. We can't be turning our noses up at this, its a solid signing.
-
He had an average season last season but that's not to say he wouldn't improve this year and have a belter. He'll be missed of course but if we can get close to 100m for him then it would make sense to let him go and focus on other areas - we have depth at CB.
-
Its mostly Sky and no doubt they are making 100s every day from people thinking 'Thats worth a tenner' on Skybet.
-
This whole thing stinks of papers manufacturing interest for clickbait and Sky Sports pushing people towards transfer betting.
-
I was never Puels biggest fan but I am fairly confident that Ricardo was another one of his signings and without Puel we probably wouldn't have got him in.

There is no way FIFA are going to move this World Cup. All the investment that has been made, the tragedy of the migrant workers as well as moving it to winter. FIFA will want to save face and press ahead with it no matter what. Plus oil money and corruption run deep at FIFA, its like Hydra, cut off one head 3 more will take its place.
-
Absolutely this. Its been blatant for a few years now that Sky have been using their news platform to encourage people to bet on transfers as when you go on a transfer news story it offers you Skybet odds. They just slap 'Sky Sources understand' in front of something and you'll have 100s of people putting money down on it within minutes. Saying that I did make a fair bit of profit a few years ago by betting on Mahrez to stay at Leicester when they were really pushing that he was at the airport and ready to leave. Probably why they've now removed that as an option.

This is absolutely spot on. I maintain that Ruiz is not a world level boxer and he’s more of a gate keeper between continental level and world level at best. On the night though he clearly wanted it more than AJ and if anything it shows how overrated AJ really is, he’s not as good as he thinks he is or as good as we thought he was. On top of that he approached this fight all wrong. Like it was a coronation, a formality to announce his arrival in America all the while forgetting that he’s actually got to fight and chances are the other bloke has some motivations and aspirations of his own. He spent the whole fight build up wether is was Miller or Ruiz constantly talking about Wilder and future fights with his attention never quite focused on what was in front of him, personally i think it was arrogance and flashes of his true personality and not that of the manufactured public persona. He’s been brought down a few pegs now and it will be interesting to see where he goes from here in terms of how he approaches future fights and as well as his persona publically. I think if he gets back to basics and just knocking people out he’ll win the rematch. He needs to stop focusing on Wilder and using these fights as tune up fights to practise his boxing and take each fight one at a time.
-
AJ got caught slacking. I said earlier in the week Wilder played a blinder with his announcement and it looks like AJ couldn't deal with the pressure. This will hang over him now in any future negotiations when he wins his belts back (because he will) he’ll no longer be the ‘a side’. Can also see why they have been lowballing Dillian Whyte as well, the AJ hype job has been found out. I think he will beat Ruiz in a rematch but thats because he focus will be on Ruiz and not on Wilder. It would also help if he started treating these fights seriously and not as practise, he needs to go back to what he does best and thats knockouts, not rigid limited boxing.
-
He's got a massive casual following but judging from social media even those casuals are starting to lose patience with the lack of genuine opposition. I personally think that they need to get the next opponent right or the tide will turn. Wilder has played a blinder with this announcement because Matchroom been trying to sell this as a profile builder for Wilder next and he's just gone and took a dump on all those plans.
-
Unless it is for stupid stupid money then I can see him doing just that, he's gone and landed himself a big contract with ESPN he doesn't need to take dangerous fights for a good while. On top of that the 'big 3' are all signed to different promoters and networks in America none of them will want to take the hit financially, they all think they are the A side and will want the better deal. He's a great boxer but he's got pillow fists for a heavyweight and prone to lapses of concentration that could get him knocked out. He can beat anyone on points but even he knows he won't always get up from the shots like he took from Wilder.
-
Can't see Hearn and Warren working out a deal on the finances for that one - both of them believe they have the HW number 1 and neither would want to budge on any PPV percentages. Also both are signed to different channels in the US which makes it even more complicated. On top of that I believe Fury is looking to cash out - he had his big fight against Wilder, immediately turned down the rematch and signed a mega money deal and now he'll be fighting nobodies for as long as he can con the public into thinking they are PPV fights. The fight with Wilder was a tactical profile builder even if he lost Fury would still have won in a financial sense and the fact it ended in a controversial split decision helps Fury as it will always have people talking.
-
Wilder announcing he's agreed a rematch with Ortiz during AJ's fight week. Obviously game playing to throw AJ off mentally because I genuinely believe he thought he would be fighting Wilder after Ruiz but instead he's going to be left with either inactivity or another underwhelming opponent which will put a bit of pressure on him. Eddie will have to give Whyte a good deal now.
-
That's because Levy is extremely shrewd. I don't think that's going to change any time soon with the stadium costs they will only spend if they get good transfer fees but their highest priority will be keeping who and what they have.
-
I got the feeling last night from Wilder that he’s finally serious arguably because he’s more confident after smashing through Breazeale. Until that point he probably had some doubts about beating AJ. I agree with your comment about Donaire, if i was him i’d just forfeit. I think Burnett has moved up in weight to avoid a devastating KO from The Monster.
-
Inoue is tied with Loma as the number 1 pound for pound fighter in my eyes thats the 3rd world level bantamweight he’s blasted out within 2 rounds.
-
He won’t be going Tottenham. They won’t want to get involved in a bidding war and get embarrassed when they can’t afford their man. They have massive stadium debts to pay off and Levy isn't the type of owner to neglect finances. Spurs will spent their summer and budget tying down their best players.

I’m with you in regards to Parker and I think if Joshua wasn’t doing his best to avoid a banana skin he would have put Parker away that fight and comfortably. I might be selling Ruiz short but I think Joshua will let his hands go this fight and it will be very similar to how the Brezeale fight went. Ruiz will be tough and game to take a hit but ultimately offer very little resistance. I also hear you about the hole Miller has left Matchroom in and this time they can sell it as being let down but Miller was an uninspiring choice in the first place and one or two more match ups like that I think the penny will drop and so will PPV buys. Whyte has the hardest fight out of the 4 but I think he’ll come through it, he’s constantly improving and has the hunger, its what keeps him taking these fights. Physically I don’t think Fury is done but in terms of motivation I think he is. He could have had an immediate rematch with Wilder but he didn’t want it, instead he’s going to ride off the hype from that fight to milk as much money as he can get from fighting bums. It will have to be a mega money offer to get him back in the ring with a Champion.

Andy Ruiz is a solid but unspectacular boxer who would be European level at best if he wasn't American, Miller is the same level as proven by the fact he was trying to juice himself to the gills to even stand a chance. Granted the fight will generate some buzz in America but mostly out of curiosity more than anything. It won't be long though before audiences over there wise up and start demanding more challenging match ups for Joshua, his British fanbase is blindly loyal but Eddie/Matchrooms antics won't fly in America for long - arguably judging by social media reactions patience starting to wear a bit thin over here too. None of the 'Big 3' want any part of Dillian Whyte, he's continually improving, he's tough and he would be a hard nights work for anyone and chances are he could win against any 3 of them. They don't want to risk that hence why Eddie is keeping him away from Joshua but you're right I could see him signing off on a fight with either Wilder or Fury because Eddie knows Whyte has a very good chance and if he wins Eddie will be promoting 2 of the best heavyweights in the world. Besides that I think Fury is done as a high level boxer - he'll try and make as much money as possible off his reputation before riding off into the sunset, he needs to make back the money he lost shoving up his nose.
