  1. The penny is eventually going to drop with these promoters especially if they keep pushing out turd match ups as PPV worthy. Joshua vs Ruiz is not going to do the numbers Sky/Matchroom hopes it will do in the UK and they will have to start thinking about their approach to promoting Joshua. There is only so many times you can match him up with someone levels below him and slap a PPV price on it before people wise up and start not bothering. Why would you want to spend £20 on a main event you already know the outcome of? Don't even get me started on what Warren is doing with Fury either, he must be smoke spice if he thinks thats PPV. I wouldn't even watch it if it were on Dave.
  2. I really hope this doesn't turn into another Mark Davies situation.
  3. Levy is known to play hardball - he'll play hardball with Eriksen and risk losing him on a free if it means he doesn't have to stump up the cash for new signings with the stadium debts so fresh. Levy could well sell but is there anyone thats willing to pay what Spurs want when they could just wait a year? On the flip side they could get Eriksen tied down to a new contract whilst the emotions of a Champions League final appearance are still fresh and raw, Levy is a shrewd operator and will be looking to exploit this as much as possible. Also I just can't see Spurs wanting to pay 40+ million. I think they might go for Grealish at a discount if Villa don't get promoted.
  4. Exactly how I imagined it. I reckon he'll probably be the one that runs the final checks over the scouted players and then makes his recommendations based on that as well as like you said, bringing in his own recommendations.
  5. I'm gutted we never got to see the Shinji Smile after scoring one last time - iconic. Will go down as on of our best ever, along with the rest of the 15/16 squad.
  6. I'm remaining optimistic. There is a philosophy in place here in regards to signings and I think Congerton will have to adhere to that. I don't believe he's going to be given free reign over transfers, he'll just be the one that scouts out players and gives recommendations to Rudkin/Rodgers - These players I imagine will have to fit within the philosophy that is now in place.
  7. Exactly this - these young players have grown up watching Messi and Ronaldo dominate and idolizing them. They realise if they want to get anywhere near that level they have to be playing regularly and not warming benches until their mid 20s when they leave the big clubs and start dropping through the leagues.
  8. No but reasonably solid to come in for a few games if injury and suspension occur is good to have - especially if they are happy with that situation.
  9. See I used to think this and then Morgan played a few games alongside Evans when Rodgers first came in and was reasonably solid. The thing with Morgan is if you put him next to an experienced Prem Centre Half he'll feed off that and do a good job, if you place him against a less experienced CB his level seems to drop. He seems to thrive when there is less pressure on himself.
  10. He's a young lad which means he has plenty of time on his side. That's a positive from our perspective because it means he might feel he doesn't have to rush into a big move and he can come back into an environment he knows he can flourish. Spurs unless they win the Champions League/Sell some players won't have the money for this move - Levy won't pay 40 million thats for sure. Utd are a train wreck of a club at the minute and whilst they could offer better wages I don't think at this stage in his career Youri is that motivated by a big contract - he just wants to develop and reach his potential. I reckon he'll give us a season or two as he'll be interested by this project and he knows he can do well at Leicester. If we can keep this team together we'll be challenging for something next season thats for sure.
  11. I really can see us winning this. Man City haven't liked playing us over the past few years at all.
  12. If we can keep him fit and Rodgers can motivate him like he has done previously its a no brainer on a free transfer considering our current forward options. Need to offer him a performance based contract though. High bonuses provided he does the business on the pitch when called upon.
  13. He's definitely not bad at all its a decent record. As another poster mentioned I don't think his style suits the team or the club, he's definitely suited more to being the big fish in a small pond where he can get away with turning up when he wants (both metaphorically and physically). At a club full of superstars with a 60m price tag hanging above him whatever he does is going to be under more scrutiny and a lot more is going to be expected. Its more noticeable when he's having an off day because the players around him will be showing him up. I'd still have him back here in a heartbeat though, imagine if we signed Tielemans and Mahrez in the summer, our attack will be disgustingly good.

    Slimani

Theres got to be a rich Chinese club that fancies the look of him surely?
  15. If done right the qualifying rounds can be used to get the team up to speed and sharpness instead of friendlies with the added bonus of potential progress further into European Competition. If management can get everyone on board with that idea and motivate the players it shouldn't be a problem. The biggest reason Prem teams go out in the qualifying rounds is because of motivation, the players would rather still be in Marbella on their jollies than the arse end of Ukraine and it shows because often they look unfit and under prepared.
  16. If we put him up for sale West Ham would be all over it.
  17. Gomez and Stones are both younger than Maguire and are performing at a higher level than him. Van Dijk is only a year older but is miles ahead in quality and has been showing quality in the Premier League for about 4 seasons. I'm not slating Maguire here but the comparisons you've picked don't look good, at his age if Maguire was at the same level as the players you've mentioned he'd already be there or knocking on the door very loudly. He had a brief knock on the door in the summer but since then he's gone backwards slightly if anything. I'm not saying Maguire is a bad player either, he's a very good player for the level we are at but the point was that he's probably not good enough for the level above as a first choice, he makes a fair amount of mistakes, his positioning can be suspect sometimes and has some issues with his concentration. He will improve some more over time and I hope he does but if we are offered 65 million for him then we should take it as we can reinvest that in other areas.
  18. Big fan of Maguire but as much as I hate to admit, I do agree with a lot of the Utd fans opinions and sentiments towards him. Maguire is one of those players that might just be a little too good for a team outside the top six but not quite good enough for a top six team, not at least as a regular starter anyway. He's had a pretty average season so far and I think the club would be tempted if someone offered silly money, which I still think might happen. Its the same situation with Mahrez, too good for us but at Man City he's not ripped up any trees and has really struggled to nail down a starting spot.
  19. That's the one. Full of a cold today so i'm slow and dopey - more so than normal Its a similar theme though - it might of been on some of their minds if Puel would have stuck around. I think I thought of Maguire because he's the one constantly linked to go and he's the one I believe probably will go regardless of who is in charge.
  20. Tell you what if his job is to go and find the next Coutinho or Neymar then by all means he can go do it. Just don't give him free reign to go and sign anyone he wants.
  21. More like Maguire coming out and saying that players won't want to leave Leicester this summer as they have hired a manager that matches their ambition. That statement alone confirms that a few of the better players might have been angling for a move away this summer if Puel was still around.
  22. I hope this isn't true. His record is absolutely abysmal and would go against what we are trying to build here.
  23. At the rate he was going and the form since the turn of the year there was a good chance he would have been rebuilding for the Championship. Getting rid was absolutely the right decision. Puel had many chances to turn things around and he failed to take them.
  24. At least these guys do some research or are at least in touch with whats going on. Paul Mersons view on Sky was so out of touch - he's been on the lash for so long he thinks its 2016 still.
  25. We should be aiming for top 10 as a minimum especially with our wage budget and squad. A good cup run or two should also be thrown into the mix. We have the potential to finish 7th but so do a few others, it certainly isn't an expectancy.
