  1. You are doing exactly that, assuming. You are assuming e.g. Pearson has taught him all his secrets or something, when for all you know the conversation went like this. Top - You see Messi does this and Barca do that, thats the way forward right. I ben watching the champions league for a couple of years, trust me. Pearson - Whatever you say boss. (whilst shaking his head) It has been reported Whelan attends the EPL shareholder meetings.
  2. I expect he will start out with what Top wants, but if it isnt working I think Cooper will change it up in later games instead of persisting with it right till the last game.
  3. Finally a reasonable contract length. Hopefully at least 3-4 years then before inevitable cash in.

Guessing we will turn down the offer like the 2 previous one's.
  5. Yes communicating with the fan base is important. What an odd question.
  6. Another one on the list of poor management of the club. All that time in the EPL and the trophies, this not even being started is a sackable offence I think. The relegation should have triggered start of the works, as then less construction time eats into EPL revenues, but again they didnt do it. I do think they not committed to doing it at this point of time.
  7. We didnt have to sell KDH. 1 - We could have chosen to call the EPL bluff to see what they would do about the EFL season, at worst it would have been 2-4 points. 2 - If we accepted all the offers leaked by players/agents we would have got 23m reduced losses, which is more than 2/3 of KDH fee. I suspect the club there might be an attempt to sell it. The way its being run is bonkers, and decisions right now are all short termist firefighting decisions.
  8. FFP is effectively a legalised cartel, not sure why albans is defending it.
  9. Apparently after some months lcfc women are considering a manager.
  10. All this nonsense because they refuse to have a flat spending limit, an insistence its tied to income/profit/losses. Hence everything that affects an income now being scrutinised. The latter would be a total non issue with a flat spending limit. Whether something is value for money is between the two parties involved in the deal, who are the EPL to decide?, that applies to sponsorship, player transfers, player contracts, and so on. Where was their scrutiny on Liverpool sponsorship deals, Manchester united shirt sponsorship, Arsenal Stadium rights.
  11. I remember at one point they were paying championship level of sponsorship for the EPL champions.
  12. Its more than circumstance, it cost us slightly above 23M combined for all the offers that were turned down for squad players, more than 2/3 of the fee. It was avoidable.
  13. I expect club nudged him out.
  14. So let me try and understand where he is coming from. His club gets favourable coverage over the majority of the other 14 most seasons. Under FFP/PSR his club is allowed to spend much more than the other 14. The improved coverage gives his club a higher share of the TV money and better sponsorship deals. I am lost, just dont see where he is coming from, unless he thinks the value of the EPL is not supported by the other 14. I assume we got mentioned because of the recent promotion, or maybe because (like forest) we are in the forgotten lands called the midlands, but we actually won the EPL more recently than his club. I wish the big had ****** off when they were planning to, I still think the national game is better without them.
  15. I think you are quick to claim people are claiming conspiracy, I merely said its questionable that its random. The EPL are free to explain the rationale behind the repeated fixture patterns.
  16. Shouldnt be a problem if we actually employ someone capable of accepting offers for squad players.
  17. I cant still post on here then? Sorry if I am not part of an echo chamber.
  18. They only capable of firefighting and struggling to think 5 minutes ahead.
  19. Might be our player for a few weeks, then sold to Chelsea to comply with PSR.
  20. Whole situation was a complete mess. The guy wanted to rebuild the squad, prepped players for leaving (which obviously included telling them they not wanted), and then had the ownership u turn on him last moment. After that he under performed as manager to a large extent, but then the ownership failed to sack him rationally until it was too late. Even with the not great PPG from Smith, it would have been enough if he just had a few more games. I agree on blaming Top and Rudkin, although I am not sure what financial power Rudkin has, but clearly Rudkin is a poor director of football. Top is poor at being decisive and doesnt have a "football brain". The drive also seems gone, no progress on stadium and hotel plans, FFP/PSR is a mask to hide the non investment, I am just waiting for someone to buy out King Power at this point, I feel so detached from the club right now.
  21. I agree with you about those running the club, but generally speaking if you sell your best player it doesnt end well unless you already have a ready made replacement. The fall from grace was partially fuelled by simply selling "too many" of the stars and scouting not adequately replacing them, which was probably inevitable when we had lost so much sports science and scouting personnel. I would accept the sale more willingly if we had also not been rejecting deals for squad players. The club is actively choosing to weaken the squad by keeping backup players and selling the star players. They also clearly not very good at managing FFP, there needs to be someone senior at the club who "understands football", not just the actual physical part, but also playing the financial game. As football is as much about finances now as it is about what happens on the pitch. The lack of action on the stadium development plans, as well as the recent financial decisions, I do actually think the hunger isnt there any more from the king power family, we need someone to buy them out.
  22. I still think the owners dont want to spend, PSR/FFP is a convenient mask to hide that under. They not acting like someone who wants to invest but are hindered by the rules or they just clueless in terms of football nous, getting round the rules etc, if we failed the EFL FFP we would be looking at maximum 2 or 4 points for it. Feel disconnected from the club for variety of reasons so probably wont be eager to watch us next season. I had a spell some years ago where I just disconnected myself from the club for a while, and I can see that happening again.
  23. For reference the players didnt reject the moves, the club did, it was the players and/or their agents that revealed it. If all you are doing is keeping hold of squad players, and not taking advantage of loopholes in PSR such as selling unused youth players for inflated fees then you just weaken your first team, its not good football nous.
  24. It will either be this or a small deduction on top of the existing charge (Everton's punishment set a precedent on double punishments in one season). If we have nous, we probably shouldnt even be concerned about it the EFL season now.
  25. Club is developing a problem of selling players brought up the ranks, star players, whilst leaving deadwood in squad to rot rejecting offers, dont like how the club is being run. It stinks.
