  1. It works when the scouting team and whoever is in charge of incoming transfers is up to the job, but our recent history, its a risky endeavour and the keeper in a team is perhaps the one spot you want to keep stable. I also think doing it after only 2 years is too short.
  2. Got a simple idea, give points for attending LCFC women games.
  3. Definitely possible, but the games are ticking down thankfully. The upside is I think Ipswich are probably not going to have as good as a time as they have in the first half of the season, and Leeds gap is bigger plus they have consistency issues. Saints are solid right now but remember there is two auto spots, so we dont need to finish first.
  4. We also likely had to sell them to bring players in, for that reason waiting till deadline day wouldnt have been worth it. A lot of our problems have been caused by doing so many deals late in the transfer window.
  5. We need to be preparing for the future, so yes. We struggle in transfer windows seemingly taking a long time get deals done, so ideally we do some business this window and the rest in summer. I dont have faith in us to do everything we need in one summer window. Also thinking about the last time we went up, we did some cracking signings prior to promotion, including Mahrez and Vardy. As soon as we confirmed as an EPL club recruitment will be more expensive as well. I also feel we probably need at least 10 signings to support Enzo, but between now and end of next window we will likely struggle to make 5, and with financial issues, these signings probably need to be shrewd sub 5 million fee's as it wouldnt surprise me if we have less than 50 million to spend.
  6. Yep its possible, not good news if true, because players will be far cheaper to buy whilst we not an EPL club. Waiting until the summer assuming we go up, everyone is 4x in value. I am not sure its all FFP though, its clear with all the pay day loans we have been having cashflow problems for a while.
  7. Indeed, I said the same earlier in the season, if you employ a manager like Enzo you "have" to give him the tools to do the job. I do feel the purse string holders think our squad is better than what it is, the current squad I feel is a counter attacking team with the exception of a few like winks, coady and vesty. They have been employing managers mismatching the squad and not prepared to fund overhauls to fit the manager they employing.
  8. Feels like club desperately trying to avoid spending again? The player wants to join, why has it still not happened?
  9. In the last game it was very simple for me, we decided to play for a 1-0 and as a result invited pressure on to ourselves for much of the second half, once that realisation set in I felt conceding was inevitable. Enzo has openly stated he doesnt like expansive play he calls it "chaos". He likes "control". I dont think doing easy passes back and then getting pressed for it is control, but thats what our manager thinks, and just have to hope he learns from it because make no mistake if we play like this in the EPL we will get punished week after week, every game at minimum will be at Ipswich/Cov/Leeds level. In terms of the other games, Ipswich away, and others I cant remember enough about those games now to have a proper opinion to post, but I will say this. I have seen on this forum many times, where we have people blaming individual defenders. As an example we invite pressure due to bad shape and strategy, opposing team gets ball past midfielders, and the defender last on the line takes the blame ignoring everything that happened before it, I do feel those who cant recognise the management of the game is the problem instead of individual players are analysing it wrong. My view also is if the team is going to sit on a 1-0, then at the very least allow counter attacks. That wasnt even allowed in the second half, Vardy won the ball about 2/3 up the pitch a really promising position, passed it and ran forward expecting it to be returned to him, and when he got forward he looked back and it was back with one of our defenders. This in my opinion is totally unacceptable play, and I was actually angry when this happened to be frank. There is obviously a degree of fragility within the team, but thats very easy to solve, "dont sit on one goal leads"!!!!! It feels like we will get a run of dodgy results, Enzo will then concede on his control to allow us to play expansive for a few games again to build up points, and then revert back to control and we drop points again, rinse repeat for rest of season. Another observation under Enzo we tend to be poor or good for an entire half, for that reason we probably better off not winning at half time as then we more likely to play with freedom for the entire second half and win the game. I believe on more than one occasion someone has posted a theory the reason we not playing with intensity for full 90 mins is the squad ultimately still has lingering fitness issues, trying to win games in first gear, only playing well for one half etc.
  10. Couldnt find it? we would get it forward to around the halfway line, forward players waiting for it, then it would be passed back. Some just cant read the game, we were playing so defensive. At one point Vardy nicked the ball in a good position , ran forward expecting the cross, when he got there, it was back to our defenders lol.
  11. We was terrible the entire second half mate, playing for a 1-0. As soon as they scored suddenly we had bodies going forward again.
  12. Its the same as the away game really, trying to sit on a 1-0 goal lead for a big chunk of the game, but this was even worse as we was at home. So many times forward play was on and we just kept passing back, playing for a 1-0 for an entire half, utterly shameful. Enzo become afraid of his own shadow or something?
  13. I remember not rating him early on but then thought he has potential. Injury has clearly set him back, but there was enough there that I would prefer we keep him, unless of course is a silly money which would probably be anything over 30 million, 10 million now days is an mediocre fee.
  14. Indeed, Huth also, We sign Coady who never been injured before and what happens .... Is a fresh start for the player, dont assume the worst I say.
  15. I am maybe the odd one out, but the way I see it is if we wait until the summer, then we likely competing against more clubs as surely there is other clubs who want him but are waiting until the summer, the 3 million is basically a secure him fee ahead of the mob. There is also value to getting him bedded into the team prior to next season.
  16. You can bet if we got such a sponsor manchester united would be reporting us as a "unrealistic deal to be investigated".
  17. From what I understand from Saints supporters I know, its all clicking now. They had an issue at the start where they were overplaying it and not getting up the pitch with urgency (sounds familiar?) apparently this has now been addressed. They are probably the only team in the league thats had a run as consistent as our own run, and now they playing more direct their goal tally has gone up. I think they will be a different challenge to when we last played them. For me watching us is weird, Enzo has managed to get us efficient at grinding out points, but many games the team doesnt feel like its clicking or could destroy the opposition, instead often its needed a half time gee up, and in some games we have been comfortably the worse team like coventry, ipswich and leeds. We have had some spells where we look good but these spells dont seem to last more than 5 games or so. When we go back to just about winning games or draws/defeats. Ultimately the league position is what counts so we doing the business, but I can understand where people are coming from when they dont say we are the best team in the league. Cov fans think based on the games played this season we are the worst out of ourselves, leeds, ipswich and saints. Of course in both Cov games we were poor. So they havent seen us at our best. Ndidi's presence for whatever reason seems to really up our performances but now he is injured again. Luckily we dont need to worry about Southampton, as there is 2 auto spots, so just need to stay clear of Ipswich and Leeds which we should be good enough to get over the line.
  18. Does it need to be that low, ill see if can do some quick maths. Saints PPG current last 6 2.5 PPG, is it short term form? Last 12 PPG is 2.33 Ipswich PPG current last 6 1.16 PPG, ok much better, Last 12 is 1.83 Based on last 6 form. Saints predicted finishing total is 103 points. Ipswich predicted finishing total is 80 points Based on Ipswich current form we would need a hideous run. Leeds an even worse run. If we base it on last 12, the run doesnt need to be as bad, but the games are indeed running out now. I think saints have to be the clear second favourite for autos behind us now, their form is monstrous. 1.84 PPG gets us 100 points which probably is enough for autos. Enzo needs to get us clicking without Ndidi though, hopefully the new signing gets over the line.
  19. Not even that, we have been spending above our means on wages and certainly for the new FFP. New structure would perhaps be something like. 60-80k for best performing experienced/loyal first teamers. No more than 4-5 players. 30-40k for less experienced first teamers, younger players. 20k for squad players. Quite a drop from what we have been paying the past few years, but unless we get a sudden large increase in turnover this will be closer to the reality.
  20. Well my original reply was wrong, but I feel FFP needs challenging in court on that its basic principle is anti competitive business practice as football clubs are businesses. However to stave of this threat I suspect there is competition rules that would throw a club out for daring to make such a challenge.
  21. He openly admitted he didnt know how to handle half time in that Arsenal game and it feels like we havent recovered from that since, horrendous league form now.
  22. Whats different between processing and transaction fee? O_o
  23. Yeah so new FFP makes this more difficult than it used to be.
  24. Including wages?
  25. Waiting for the "didnt meet our valuation"
