He was a colossus for us and an absolute legend. Yes, we’ve had our gripes with him and set pieces recently but that shouldn’t diminish what he has done for us over the years. I do wonder if he would have been so loyal had a big club came in for him. He seems a very driven person, so I’d expect not. A bit like Noble at West Ham.

Barnes and Gray too…

No, tried logging in but won’t let me add the ticket and have had no email yet! Very poor communication from the club -
He will 100% go on TDD when clubs are scrambling and they know that Youri wants a move and is a relatively cheap signing.

Strange but the Brentford game doesn’t seem to appear on my list of games, any idea anyone? Season ticket holder so maybe they haven’t authorised it yet?

Best way to turn the announcement around is to sign a GK who commands his area and give Vardy a new deal

How come our reserve goalkeeper has a big following in China? 👀 -
Phillips is a very good player but if I had the choice out of a fully fit Ndidi and him, Ndidi wins it hands down.

I’ve got Ghezzal vibes about this transfer

A one year contract is a bad move in my opinion. It shows he clearly doesn’t want to be here and has reluctantly signed it to save face. All it means is another year of him trying not to get injured. First for the World Cup and then again afterwards so he can get his move. Another year of below average performances, when everyone knows he wants to leave is not good for the dressing room or the club.

Personally I disagree, Justin has looked far more comfortable and better on the right. I’d even argue he’s wasted on the left. It is good that he can cover both positions though.

My feeling is that he will be our last choice. Should we fail to sign a better winger, we will dip back in and pay full price for him at the end of the window.

That’s one way to start a rivalry, poach their manager when Brendan goes 🤣

That’s what I remember too. It was the same with an early 00’s England kit too - painful!

We currently have around 71% of the ground being taken up by STH. If this continues to be the case with the expansion then we will have around 28,500 STH, so around 5500 more ST available.

I tried but there was no room for more thoughts, it was just filled with teeth whitening and David Brent quotes.

I’ve always said that if you sign a couple of starters, that improves your squad much more than signing 4 squad players. This is because your old starters then become the squad players, which are stronger than the 4 average players you bring in. It is also drives competition due to the old starters wanting to fight to get back in the team. Not only that, it would be better on the wage budget to sign 2 players on 90k a week, than 4 on 50k, along with less signing on and agents fees.

My worry is that yet again we will leave it until the last minute to get new signings in. Look at that list above and you’ll find almost all of the failures were late signings in the transfer window. Surely it is better paying a couple more million to get it done early, than risk a last minute buy which essentially throws away money anyway. The sooner the *new* squad is together and training with each other, the better chance we have of hitting the ground running next season. If we haven’t learnt our lesson by now, maybe we never will.

This is a good point, it would mitigate the loss of a reduced capacity in the short term, while potentially offering other expansion opportunities to other sides of the stadium in the future. Knowing our owners, long long term they probably would like to upgrade all stands to make them more modern and attractive (if demand was there) which could potentially add another 8k on the East Stand along with another 4k on both the North and South Stands, taking the capacity to a nice 56k.
