  1. What FIFA say and what they do are completely different. They'll likely just leave it, say nothing, do nothing and it'll be forgotten over time.
  2. Paid not to. I'm generally sceptical about referee bias but it was so clear that night. VAR had an Argentinian club player on the panel ffs.
  3. I disagree. Argentina were fouling and using the ref's clear bias to get away with blatant foul tactics. England aren't exactly innocent either but their "fouls" got punished, Argentina's didn't. There's a clear stamp on (Anderson's)? foot which brought him down but the ref played on. An elbow to the back of Bellingham's head. Nothing. Blatant obstruction by Macallister. Nothing. Messi having a pleasant conversation with the ref during the game. England weren't scared but they were bullied out of the game. Argentina and other South American teams are renowned for it and VAR and the officials let so much go in favour of Argentina. I wouldn't be too surprised if Spain get pretty much feck all in their favour from the ref or VAR tonight.
  4. Possibly the best and most enjoyable game of the tournament. Regardless of anything else, credit to both teams.
  5. And France tbf. They could have been petulant but they played a good game
  6. People saying they would never watch this. Yes it's pretty much meaningless but it's been a good game to watch.
  7. The game in terms of world football has been fecked over by UEFA and FIFA in particular, and they have their cashcows in the likes if Messi who brings in millions and more in global revenue. No surprise they fix it for the money.
  8. I disagree. Not their first team but there's still decent players in there. It's been a surprisingly entertaining game tbf
  9. I know the majority of folks on here dismissed this as a nothing game and each to their own, but actually it's a decent watch.
  10. He'll offer them his ring.
  11. We should have done better. Tuchel was foolish. But my God, Argentina had VAR and the ref on their payroll. The number of fouls that went unpunished is startling. You can watch clips on YouTube if you choose. I get that we were below par but the Argies were given favourable advantage by the ref and VAR, who had an ex Argentinian club player in the room and didn't intervene in any of the decisions by the ref. Stinks. I'm watching the final just to see how biased it is. FIFA want Messi to lift the trophy. Simple as.
  12. But if you'd gone to the free gluten aisle...

We have 3 water butts in our garden. We have been using water from 2 of them and they are quite depleted, the 3rd one has a lid and in May it was full from the spring rains. A couple days ago we took the lid off to get some water and it had all evaporated. All 200 litres of it.

1976 as I remember it, was several weeks of a steady 28-ish degs. This year and 4 years ago, the temperatures have been between 32 and 38 degs for a few days at a time then dropped for a few days then returned. It also feels more oppressively hot this time than I recall in 1976
  15. Yes. I wish people could be taught defensive driving during their lessons. It would make a big difference to driving.
  16. Well, that's just wrong. Politeness is easy. Would you ignore someone who held a door open for you?
  17. In which case, I dislike all of them, male and female but I have no choice but to put up with their drivel.
  18. John Motson. The best in his day.
  19. Corrupt? Simply a better team against us. I didn't see any evidence of corruption or cheating. Argies used physical and dodgy spoiling tactics. That's all.
